FEB-28-2023
The highly anticipated Sitting of the Lower Chamber of the House of Assembly on Tuesday was embroiled in drama, with bickering and counter bickering by members over a request by the Leader of the Opposition for his presentation on a lending bill to be heard without interruption.
When House Speaker Claudius Francis declined to provide the member protection, Allen Chastanet made it clear he had lost all confidence in the Speaker and subsequently walked out to cheers and a barrage of claims by Government-side members.
According to St. Lucia Met Services, an upper-level trough affected the northern part of the island leading to the destructive flooding over the weekend.
The Ministry of Education, Sustainable Development, Innovation, Science, Technology and Vocational Training wishes to inform parents and guardians that based on initial assessments following heavy rains on Sunday, November 6th, 2022, Corinth Secondary and the Dame Pearlette Primary Schools will remain closed until further notice.
The ministry encourages all to remain safe and to always be prepared for any events during this hurricane season.
