23 year old Cressy Jequiza Guard is the author of the short story entitled “Love Amidst Covid.”

When asked the best advice she’d received as a writer, Cressy said “The best advice that I've received as a writer is hearing someone say to me that my choice of words impacted their life and I should keep expressing my creativity. Messages like this keep me going.”

29 year old Christina Smith is the author of the short story entitled “Reluctant X”

When asked her favourite topics to write about, Christina says,
“I love to explore those pressing issues affecting Caribbean people such as political instability, crime and poverty. My aim is to give voice to the disadvantaged, the vulnerable and the misunderstood.”

When asked if she’d published any other work, Gabrielle replied, “I have two self-published works titles Is you Madness nah Me Own a collection of creole poetry and Blackout Daze a collection of creole plays. Currently, I am working on a novella entitled “Estate Paruini”. Estate Paruini is the journey of a child, Kateri, prophesied to sever the bonds of Evil’s continued repossessions of the Caribbean."

When asked where she sees herself in years to come, Khadijah replied, “Continuing to advocate for mental health and mental illness awareness, whether that be through my writing or my service as a clinical psychologist, or a mixture of both, or something else entirely, I am fervently passionate about that branch of advocacy and only time will tell the avenue.”

Long story short, 2020 was...a lot.

We decided to create a collection of short stories that reflect the thoughts of young adults throughout the pandemic.

This anthology follows the personal journeys of 12 Caribbean writers, and vividly conveys the highs, the lows, the journeys to self-discovery, the travels, the quarantine romance, and the many emotions of the average millennial during last year's chaos.
