๐โคA 23 Years Old Ironwoman With 26 Screws & 2 Rods In Her Back 1 Year and 2 months Post Spinal Fusionโค๐
Hello everyone ๐ I am Ragad Awad and I'm 23 years old. I study Biomedical Sciences Today I will be updating you about the past 2 months because today I am 1 year and 2 months post full spinal fusion T4L4. I got my spinal chord fused when I was 22 years old. The past 2 months have been one of the best months for me. Because of all the exercises I've been doing everyday at the MCS center and the homework exercises that I've been doing at home the 4 days I don't go to the gym . These workout made me become stronger physically and mentally. My flexibility and mobility starting progressing in a great way , my posture have been changing to the much better, and mostly importantly I have been feeling pain - free and I took 0 pain meds these months for my back! In this post I won't be speaking alot about exercising I've been doing but in few days or next week I will be posting a video about what I've been doing at the MCS center and the amazing MCS team that gave me my life and smile back ๐๐ช๐ Now Lets Get To Month #2 ๐๐ช๐. In this month I did an X-Ray for my back since my last X-ray was done on February. Moreover, I had a doctor appointment this month on the 2nd of August. My doctor told me that all my Xrays are very perfect and he was very happy about me telling him that I've been going to the gym for the past 6 months and doing many amazing exercises for my fused back ranging from easy to moderate to difficult ones! Ive been also swimming alot and playing basketball. When I showed my doctor the videos of me exercising at the gym he was surprised that Ive been doing them and he told me that I am a hero, beautiful, smart and very strong girl! I am very very greatfull, thankful and speechless for you Dr. Ismat Ghanem. You are the hero , strong and best doctor who saved my back and my life with the successful spinal fusion surgery! He also told me that I can play any sport I want and able to do any activity! I remember how during my first appointment when I learned that I needed the surgery I went out crying alot and felt depressed and scared till after a year the day I had to do the surgery but yesterday when I got to my appointment I went out happy, laughing, confident, positive, and stronger. Ofc here I spoke about all the good things I've been feeling but one thing I still fear about is falling and that is the only thing that scares me because I never fell after my surgery. My next X-ray and appointment will be next year and I'm hopeful InshaAllah that I will be much stronger and positive.
(In few days I will BE posting exercises that Ive been doing at MCS center).
