دير مار أنطونيوس الكبير قزحيا ✝️

The Monastery of Saint Anthony the Great (Mar Antonios al-Kabir) is situated at a height of 950 meters above sea level in the Holy Valley.

Historians and scholars suppose that this Monastery was first built and began to be occupied by hermits at the beginning of the fourth century. It was several times looted, set on fire and razed to the ground.

A Place of Pilgrimage
The Monastery of Qozhaya has special significance for both Christians and Muslims, who come from all regions seeking cures, divine grace and peace of mind. It is the Monastery for the pilgrims.

The Cave of Qozhaya, which burrows into the mountainside, is a popular place for miracles, especially for those who suffer from mental illness.

Zajal Set Design ⛰ 🇱🇧

( : زجل) is a traditional form of oral strophic declaimed in a colloquial dialect. While there is little evidence of the exact origins of the zajal, the earliest recorded zajal poet was the poet Ibn Quzman of al-Andalus who lived from 1078 to 1160.

Today it is most alive in the Levant especially in Lebanon, and in where professional zajal practitioners can attain high levels of recognition and popularity) as well as the , particularly and . Zajal is semi-improvised and semi-sung and is often performed in the format of a debate between zajjalin (poets who improvise the zajal).

It is usually accompanied by percussive musical and a chorus of men (and more recently, women) who sing parts of the verse.

The Golden Hour at St. Moura Kfarsghab 🌅

Moura, also known as Mart Moura, is a martyr of the 1st centuries of Christianity honored in the Middle East. Her feast is celebrated on the 3rd of May and on the 25th of September.

Father Youakim Moubarac presents the life of Mart Moura as follows:
Moura is a from Upper married to a deacon called Timothy. When Diocletianus came to power and wanted to erase any trace of Christianity, the governor Urban invited Timothy and his wife to embrace paganism. They refused with courage, were crucified and died from slow death around 283. It is also supposed that this martyrdom took place under Decius.

Several churches are dedicated to Mart Moura among the Maronites of North Lebanon, in Tourza, Mayfouq, Kfarsghab, Karm el Mohr, Kobayat, Bakarzala, Rachiine, Miziara, Bnachii. There is also a sanctuary in Kahf Al Malloul.
