We are happy to announce an amazing project led by Abir Ward!

American University of Beirut (AUB)’s first annual Wikipedia Edit-a-thon to be held on Thursday November 18, 12:00 pm to 3:00 pm (College Hall B1) part of the series of events celebrating AUB's co-ed centennial—100 years since women were officially admitted to AUB. More about 2Rāth:
2Rāth, a CCCC Wikipedia project, addresses the necessity for digital collaboration between students and librarians to develop an online presence for Arab authors on the world’s largest online encyclopedia, Wikipedia. This helps students build digital literacy capacity that few other learning platforms and exercises in composition and academic writing can offer. Students are also engaged in preserving their Arab heritage by producing digital Wikipedia articles about notable Arab figures and bridging the gender gap on Wikipedia by creating and editing articles about Arab women.
