The Philippine Embassy in Kuwait is shocked and deeply saddened by the tragic incident of a Filipino domestic worker involved in the death of a Kuwaiti child in her employer’s household.

We extend our heartfelt condolences and prayers to the bereaved family during this difficult time.

The Embassy is cooperating with Kuwaiti authorities investigating the incident and is also providing assistance to the detained Filipino domestic worker, within the framework of Kuwaiti law and in keeping with the Embassy’s mandate.

This isolated incident does not reflect the character of Filipinos and the Filipino community in Kuwait, who are recognized for their hard work, reliability, and positive contribution to society.

Filipino Maid Arrested After Tragic Death of Infant in Kuwait
A tragic incident occurred in Kuwait where a maid was arrested for allegedly causing the death of an eighteen-month-old child by placing him in a washing machine and turning it on. Despite the parents' efforts to save the child by rushing him to Jaber Hospital, he tragically passed away before arrival. The maid is now in custody.
