Plane crashes during takeoff in Nepal, killing at least 18..

At least 18 people were killed when a plane skidded off the runway in ’s capital on Wednesday, according to local officials, The pilot, who is currently receiving treatment in the hospital, is the only survivor of the fatal accident.
19 people were on the Saurya Airlines test flight, including technical staff members of the airline and two crew members, The incident occurred around 11:15 local time, a few minutes after the plane took off from Tribhuvan International Airport, according to a statement from the Nepal Civil Aviation Authority's search and rescue coordination center.

On Friday morning, 118 people were still being treated in hospitals

The death toll from the latest case of tainted liquor in the southern Indian state of Tamil Nadu has climbed to 47, with over 100 people still in hospital, a government official said on Friday.

Since Wednesday more than 150 people, suffering from vomiting, stomach aches and diarrhoea, have needed treatment after drinking methanol-mixed liquor made in the Kallakurichi district, about 250 km (150 miles) from the state capital Chennai.

On Friday morning, 118 people were still being treated in hospitals in the district and nearby areas, the government official said.

On Thursday, a government spokesperson said at least 36 people had died.

Police arrested four people over illicit liquor sales and seized 200 litres of the alcoholic drink, the state government said on Thursday, adding that it had taken disciplinary action against 10 officials for failure to prevent it.

Kuwait fire leaves 24 families in India's Kerala state bereft

Most of the Indian victims came from Kerala

From a father-of-two who planned to leave his job to a 29-year-old due to visit his family in August, two dozen Indians from the southern state of Kerala died in a fire that ripped through a labour-housing facility in Kuwait on Wednesday, leaving their families bereft.

Around 40 Indians died in the blaze, which also killed at least 9 other people in Mangaf city, while more than 50 were injured, according to India's foreign ministry. Most of the Indian victims came from Kerala.

Norka Roots, a government agency for Keralites living outside the state, put the number of the state's dead at 24 with seven others injured and their condition serious. The federal government had arranged a special flight to bring the bodies, Norka Secretary K Vasuki said.

Fire in Mangaf Building Kills 43, Mostly Indian Workers..

At least 43 people, most of them workers were killed after a fire broke out in a building housing workers in the Mangaf area early Wednesday morning, The fire department has identified a buildup of deceased and injured individuals in the stairways used for escape. The building has 6 floors and is occupied by 196 workers. Some of the deceased will be identified through forensic evidence using biometric fingerprinting or DNA fingerprinting.
Meanwhile, the Indian Ambassador to , Dr. Adarsh Swaika, visited the Al-Adan hospital where over 30 Indian workers injured have been admitted. He met a number of patients and assured them of full assistance from the Embassy. Almost all are reported to be stable by hospital authorities. #الكويت
