Neak Leng Kun Tournament is a new competition in Cambodia, organized to promote Khmer martial arts
Neak Leng Kun Tournament is a new competition in Cambodia, organized to promote Khmer martial arts, especially Kun Lbokator. The tournament will be held on Dec. 16 at the Olympic Stadium in Phnom Penh.
Fighters from five countries will take part, Cambodia, Vietnam, Philippines, Indonesia and Laos. The fighters also do other martial arts, including kickboxing and jiujitsu.
Vy Tara, the tournament promoter, said the organization aims to show bouts between specialized martial art fighters among foreign countries and Cambodia.
"Neak Leng Kun" is a Khmer phrase referring to individuals who do martial arts. The name was inspired by a traditional routine of Khmer ancestors who gathered for a tournament as a sport after their work on the rice fields, Tara said.

The European Union will help Cambodia add value to its products to prepare for the withdrawal of Everything but Arms (EBA) after the country graduates from least developed county status.
Cambodia, however, can upgrade the partnership to still get access to trade benefits while working on its original products for more value in the EU market.

A Foreign Tourist Comes to Support the “Moen Keo Senchey Baramey Lvea Sor” Boat raced by German and Cambodian Oarsmen.
The oarsmen are from the WannSea Dragons boat racing team based in Berlin, Germany. They came to Cambodia specifically to test themselves against local teams during the Water Festival from Nov. 26 to Nov. 28.
After seeing the festival in 2019, the crew wanted to compete in boat races in Cambodia. But such a challenge has had to wait until 2023, as the celebration had been canceled three years in a row due to COVID-19 and security purposes for last year’s ASEAN Summits.
To be as prepared as possible and hopefully win a race, the German team has been training twice a week to master maneuvering the long boat and ensuring coordination between every crew member.
