Today, led by President William Samoei Ruto, Commander-in-Chief of the Kenya Defence Forces (KDF), we joined military officers and leaders at Moi Airbase, Nairobi, to celebrate the Kenya Air Force's (KAF) 60th anniversary.

President Ruto praised the KAF for its dedication to national security and announced plans to modernize its assets and train 200 pilots annually. He also introduced initiatives to improve military personnel's housing and healthcare.

The event was attended by high-ranking military officials, government representatives, veterans, and international defence attachés.

Budding artiste KRG The Don has opened up about his wealth status and revealed his source of income that has seen him acquire and live a luxurious lifestyle.

In an interview with Iko Nini TV, the musician revealed that his grandfather left all his property to him and he inherited them when he turned 18.

"Kwa background yangu, naweza sema kwa family yangu yote, mimi ndio wa kusema. Hata akina budangu hawawezi ongea pahali mimi naongea. Wanatulia niongee, nimalize alafu ndio wacome. Wealth ya grandparent wangu, ni mimi niliachiwa. Alidie 30 days before I was born. Na alikuwa amebless mathangu akasema yule mtoto atazaliwa next na ni mimi nilikuwa kwa ball ya mathangu, ndio nitainherit kila kitu," he said.

He also shared that he also accumulated good cash when he was contracted to supply construction materials to the SGR project.

"Nikapiga hio job kutoka 2014. Tulimaliza hio job 2016. SGR nilikuwa nasupply hapo mchanga, ballast, kutoka huko Makindu," he added.

His post was reshared online attracting comments from social media who expressed mixed reactions to KRG's revelations.

SPINACH FARMING

1. Ecological Requirements

▪️Being a cool-weather vegetable, spinach can withstand the first frost of temperate climates.

▪️Temperatures ranging from 4 to 16°C are ideal for germination and growth. It can, however, withstand temperatures as low as -7 degrees Celsius.

▪️A well-draining loamy soil with a pH of 6.4 to 7.0 is ideal for spinach growth. It is vulnerable to excessively high pH levels and acidic soil.

▪️Even though spinach prefers full sun, it can still yield a substantial amount in partial shade.

▪️In hot weather, seeds germinate slowly or may not germinate at all. Additionally, heat causes plants to bolt (go to seed) which ruins the crop's flavor.

2. Planting & Cultural Practices

▪️Spinach is propagated solely by seed.

▪️Spinach is first grown in a nursery before being transplanted into the main field.

3. Nursery Establishment

Procedure

▪️The nursery bed should be set up with one meter of width and the necessary length.

▪️Plant seeds in the bed at a depth of approximately one inch.

▪️Cover the seeds lightly with soil.

▪️Add a thin layer of dry grass (mulch) to the nursery bed.

▪️Water the nursery bed.

▪️Seeds germinate in approximately 5-7 days.

▪️Water seedlings regularly.

4. Transplanting

▪️After 4-5 weeks, when they have 3–4 leaves, seedlings are prepared for transplanting. However, this relies on the local ecological elements, such as temperature.

▪️It is best to transplant on a cloudy day or in the late evening when the sun low.

Note:

▪️Wet the seedlings an hour before removing them from the nursery. This prevents root damage.
Procedure

▪️Choose a location with full sun or light shade and well-drained soil.

▪️Two to three weeks in advance, plow the ground to a minimum depth of eight inches and harrow the area.

▪️Prepare the raised beds. It is advised to use these for appropriate root establishment and drainage. Measurements for the beds should be 15 cm high, 1 meter wide, and roughly 100 meters long.

H.E. President William Samoei Ruto presiding over the graduation ceremony of the National Defence College (NDC), a constituent college of the National Defence University.

This event celebrated the successful completion of the NDC Course 26-2023/24, which spanned an intensive 49 weeks.

The NDC course is renowned for its rigorous curriculum designed to enhance capacity in leadership, decision-making in government, and interoperability. This year's course particularly focused on addressing contemporary challenges and emerging security threats, reflecting the dynamic nature of global and regional security landscapes.

Graduates of the NDC Course 26-2023/24 include members of the Kenya Defence Forces (KDF), personnel from various government agencies, and international students from 14 different countries. According to the police report, Vincent Opon Kisangi aka Raila left home with his wife on Monday to an unknown location, and on Wednesday(1am) he returned home alone.

He went direct to his bedroom and locked himself, at around 4am in the morning, he ordered his house help out of the house since he didn't want to arm her, at that time he had already stabbed himself.

Anne Atieno the househelp picked her belongings and left, moments later she had an explosion from the house. The man burnt beyond recognition and two gas cylinders were found beside his body.

The wife is reportedly still missing.

Collins Kiptoo from Nandi Hills storms Betika offices in Westlands after allegedly losing 1.2m out of 1.5m he had won on betting.

On Wednesday, March 27, 2024 - On March 13th, Collins Kiptoo placed a bet on Betika Aviator and won over Ksh 1.5 Million.

The money was deposited in his account on March 14th at 1.00 am.

However, when he tried to place another bet at 1: 10 am, he was told to wait for 24 hours.

He withdrew Ksh 300,000 from his account (the maximum amount of money that you can withdraw from Betika).

At 7:29 PM on March 14, he checked his account and the balance was still there.

However, after 24 hours, he checked his account at around 1:30 am on March 15th and found his account empty.

He called Betika customer care and he was told that he had lost the money after placing auto bets.

He stormed Betika’s offices where the staff insisted that he had lost the money (over Ksh 1.2 million) after placing auto bets.

Collins insists he did not stake any bet after Ksh 1.5 Million was deposited in his account.

He is demanding to know who withdrew his money.

KITU SEWER🇰🇪💯

Kitu Sewer the poet formerly known as K-Swiss is a veteran lyricist, hip-hop artist and poet. Originally rapping under a two-man outfit Mashifta formed in the early 2000s. G Wiji and Kitu Sewer released a number of hit tracks including Pesa Pombe Siasa na Wanawake, System ya Majambazi, the latter being an underground hit. Their first Album was titled "Mashifta classics" released in 2004. Unfortunately this was their only album. The two artists went solo in *2005.

Kitu Sewer kept at it and soon after released a hit single Kushika Mic, and subsequently featuring in Abbas Kubaff's Si Hisaa(Siasa) ft. Kitu Sewer and Mchizi Gaza's Maria ft. Kitu Sewer hit single released in 2007. Kitu Sewer has collaborated with other heavy-weight artists such as Moroko Kalahari, MC Mutant and Frank Mteule just to name a few. His music is largley conscious imparting street-wisdom to the youth, highlighting the wanton greed, ever growing ills of a materialitic society. Toured several development projects in Embakasi West with area MP Hon. Mark Mwenje, Umoja 1, Mowlem and Umoja 2 MCAs Mark Macharia Roro Mugambi, Wairobi and Shadrack Machanje, together with other leaders after commissioning the construction of the constituency’s central kitchen at Umoja 1 Primary.

The completed projects include roads, storm drainage expansion and business structures for our people. The kids were elated about the new developments at their school. We also committed to address the issues of ECD and Primary school infrastructure together.

The shift to electric vehicles (EVs) significantly cuts emissions of greenhouse gases while reducing the petroleum import bill, currently standing at Ksh 628.4 billion. It will also promote local manufacturing and create jobs.

That's why the Government has prioritised the adoption of EVs.

Because of this, there is an urgent need to create an enabling environment for the adoption of electric vehicles. This includes creating a comprehensive policy framework.

Glad to have today unveiled, together with my Investment, Trade and Industry colleague CS Hon. Rebecca Miano, EGH, the Draft National Electric Mobility Policy that is ready to go for public participation.

The policy, which will guide the development of electric mobility in all transportation modes – roads, rail, air and maritime – will provide a transition framework from the internal combustion engine now in use.

To achieve this, we are partnering with the private sector, international investors, and academic institutions to build the necessary infrastructure.

The draft policy also suggests incentives for EV adoption and support for local manufacturing.

To promote faster adoption of EVs, we have begun the process of assigning green-coloured number plates to all electric vehicles, including two-wheelers. Special plates will help raise awareness about EVs among the general public and encourage more people to consider switching to e-mobility. We are also setting up charging infrastructure at our Ministry headquarters.

Furthermore, we are taking to the Cabinet a proposal for a phased fleet replacement programme for all GoK vehicles from internal combustion engines to EVs. This will, in the long run, save taxpayers billions of shillings on fuelling and other maintenance costs, not to mention the immense environmental benefits that come from the shift.

The AGM, originally scheduled for March 16th, was halted following a court order from Mombasa.

Jermaine Lamarr Cole (born January 28, 1985) is an American rapper and record producer. Born on a military base in Germany and raised in Fayetteville, North Carolina, Cole initially gained recognition as a rapper following the release of his debut mixtape, The Come Up, in early 2007. Intent on further pursuing a musical career, he went on to release two additional mixtapes, The Warm Up (2009) and Friday Night Lights (2010) both to critical acclaim, after signing to Jay-Z's Roc Nation imprint in 2009.

Cole released his debut studio album, Cole World: The Sideline Story, in 2011. It debuted at number one on the US Billboard 200. His next album, Born Sinner (2013), also topped the Billboard 200. Moving into more conscious themes, 2014 Forest Hills Drive (2014) topped the Billboard 200 and earned Cole a Best Rap Album nomination at the 2015 Grammy Awards. His jazz influenced fourth album, 4 Your Eyez Only (2016), debuted at number one on the Billboard 200.
