In stead of extorting money from innocent people on the highways, extorting liquors from bars, extorting meals from restaurants and extorting goods from shops, our Police (and CDI) should be patrolling, beginning to do real police work and protecting our children and all of us.
We want real and hard working police men and women on the streets. And we want them NOW!

The campaigns have affected the business and players in the hospitality industry in the region say their bookings are low.

Police in Nakuru have arrested the prime suspect behind the bizarre murder of an unidentified woman whose body was last week found dumped in Barut with the head missing.
Police say the 22-year-old suspect has been linked to the beheading of the woman and dumping her body in a sand quarry located in Barut, Nakuru West.
According to police investigations, the woman was killed elsewhere before the body was dumped in Barut.

Preliminary investigations showed that the woman may have been r***d before being killed.

Four people killed by police officers on Friday morning on suspicion of being members of a criminal gang have been identified.
Collins Kibet Kirui, Collins Kipkorir, Kevin Kipyegon and Denis Kipchirchir were gunned down in Barut, Nakuru West sub-county during a security operation.
Kipyegon and Kipchirchir were said to have been brothers and orphans who lost both parents at a tender age and were living together in Barut.

On Friday, Nakuru County Police Commander Peter Mwanzo said the four were gunned down after they attempted to attack patrolling officers with arrows.

Villagers in Kinungi, on the outskirts of Naivasha, are reeling in shock after a man stabbed to death his younger brother following a bar brawl, before taking his own life.
Their cousin, Paul Kingee, said the two – Joseph Mburu aged 34, and Simon Mburu, 30 – walked into the bar, known as Precious Gift, and ordered their favourite liquor going by the village name Kimande.
At some point, they disagreed on who was to pay for another round of drinks.

A senior Kenya Defence Forces officer lost his private firearm on Wednesday night when a thug broke into his car.
He also lost a laptop valued at Sh37,000 and other valuables, as well as a Ceska pistol stashed in a black bag that was placed in the front seat.

Both Deputy President William Ruto and main presidential election rival Raila Odinga have over the past one month concentrated their respective campaigns in 10 crucial counties with a total of 3.6 million votes.
Those are also the counties recent opinion polls have classified as battlegrounds, where the vote could go either way.

Police have arrested six people linked to the gruesome murders of women in Nakuru county.
Among them is a suspected serial killer identified as Evans Michori Kebwaro, who is said to be the mastermind in the killings of three women in Mawanga and Kiamaina in a span of two weeks.
According to a brief from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations, Mr Kebwaro was seized from his hideout in Keroka, Kisii County, on Thursday afternoon.

Nakuru Town West Member of Parliament, Samuel Arama, has been jailed for six months.

The Legislator was sentenced after the court found him guilty of fraud. He was, however, given an option of a Ksh1.5 million fine.

Arama was found guilty of abusing his office and authority to fraudulently acquire a piece of land in Nakuru Municipality Block 6/95 by displacing a Muhammad Nisar Ahmed.

The MP was found guilty of abusing his office and committing the crime.

Interior Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiang'i has announced changes in the National Police Services (NPS) amid insecurity concerns in Nakuru county.

In the latest min-reshuffle, announced on Wednesday, June 29, Matiang'i moved Kasarani Officer Commanding Police Division (OCPD) Peter Mwanzo to Nakuru to contain the situation in the region after a spate of gang-attacks.

Following the transfer, Mwanzo has been promoted to the rank of County Commander.

Mwanzo will take over from Beatrice Kiraguri who has been serving as Nakuru County Commander.

Despite reports indicating that he lost Ksh597K through an online syndicate, Mwanzo has been steadfast in ensuring the streets of Kasarani remain criminal free.

Interior Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiang'i has ordered a sting operation to flush out a gang that has been terrorizing Nakuru residents.

Speaking in Nakuru county, Matiang'i affirmed that Inspector General of Police, Hilary Mutyambai, had taken up the matter with the assurance that the police force would brutally deal with the gang.

He added that adequate measures had been put in place to contain the radical group.

The group targets young girls, sexually assault them, kills them through strangulation and burns their bodies to conceal evidence.

Nakuru County acting chief of Public Health Daniel Wainaina Ndung'u says the number of new cases has risen steadily.

Eleven-years-old junior golfer Peter Gathogo stunned a field of 154 golfers at the par 73 Nakuru Golf Club course over the weekend, to claim the overall title during the second leg of this year’s Nation Classic Golf series.
Gathogo, a Grade Six pupil at Christ The King Academy in Nakuru, who a week ago clinched the Boys overall title in the Safaricom Golf Tour event in Kitale, produced an excellent 44 points playing off handicap 19, to emerge the overall winner at his home course.

At the beginning of May, Kenyans were cautioned about the health hazards posed by fish hawked along the busy Nairobi - Nakuru highway.

In an interview with Kenyans.co.ke, the Secretary-General of Kenya Association of Food Safety And Protection (KAFSAP), Juliana Kiio, discouraged consumers from purchasing the product, adding that most vendors do not adhere to the correct food preservation methods.

She further brought to light the risk of the fish being contaminated before it is sold.

The scientists noted that cartels had infiltrated the business leading to an increase in poor quality fish in the market.
