BETIKA NATIONAL SUPER LEAGUE KIT DISTRIBUTION AHEAD OF THE NEW
SEASON

Nairobi, Kenya 26th October 2021…….

As part of their ongoing efforts to support sports in Kenya, Betika the leading sports betting firm issued twenty National Super League teams with new football kits, balls, and nets ahead of the new season. This comes less than 2 months after Betika hosted the first ever football awards ceremony for the second division league that saw over 11 category winners receiving awards and cash prices. Betika are also the league’s title sponsors in a Kshs 94 million sponsorship deal that commenced in2019. The partnership with FKF has directly impacted the clubs and improved the standards of the game as the focus shifts to nurturing talent both at the grassroots and national level. This has helped some of the teams to get promotion to the FKF Premier league and given the rest much needed exposure to get sponsorship deals.

Speaking during the kit presentation at Camp Toyoyo, the firm’s Chief Executive Officer, Mr Nicholus Mruttu said, “Last year, betika directly sent 5 million by mobile money to 1,050 BNSL and KPL players to support them and their families. We are happy that the president has finally opened the country and we can go back to the game that we love. As Betika, we are happy to support our sporting youths in any way that we can. We ensure that our kits are of high quality and the teams can use them for training of main matches. We have also given them footballs and nets. We are happy to be setting the pace for other like-minded corporate citizens to rise up to the challenge and support the community by giving back to worthy causes. Congratulations to Mara Sugar, SS Assad and Naivas for joining the second-tier division. This year, we hope that the games will be even more competitive”.

Mr. Mruttu also noted that the level of commitment in the training has improved as more teams have
joined the Kenya National Super League. Speaking during the presentation FKF CEO, Barry Otieno said, “Under this sponsorship, each of the 20 competing teams get Ksh 750,000 per annum and in-kind provision of kits, balls, nets and other sports equipment. Through the sponsorship, Betika is our sole and official grassroots football partner with Ksh 45M going directly to financing grassroot football activities across the 47 counties. Through the sponsorship, we have an approximate of 50 players moving from BNSL to KPL every season, a
testament to the league’s improving talent. We are proud to have you as partners”. ‘Betika Na Community’ has now grown into a massive movement with huge following across the country from as far as Turkana. Betika continues to reaffirm their commitment in investing in sports, arts and culture across the country.

Betika HOLDS THE FUNDI BINGWA CUP FOR JUAKALI ARTISANS

Nairobi, Kenya 10TH October, 2021…
Betika holds a friendly football tournament for Jua
Kali artisans in Nairobi that ran from the 8th to 10th October 2021. Betika in partnership with the Unique Mechanical & Auto Artisans Welfare Society launched the “Fundi Bingwa Cup” in early August in an effort to support and create opportunities for artisans and craftsmen in the Jua Kali sector.
Since inception, the Betika Na Community initiative has reached hundreds of thousands of youths across the country by supporting them through sports, equipment, and direct financial support into their business ventures. This year, Betika saw it fit to support Jua Kali artisans such as masons, plumbers, electricians, mechanics among many others through sports by providing uniforms, financial support, kits, balls, and other sports equipment. Apart from the sports equipment, Betika gave out 50 toolboxes and a 10,000- litre air compressor spray guns that will be used to improve the trade of about 2000 artisans. The Fundi Bingwa tournament saw Langata Southland FC win the men’s category taking home Kshs. 250,000 and Beijing Raiders win the women’s category taking home Kshs. 100,000.
“It was a very good weekend, and we are impressed by the number of artisans who play football during their free time. Through this initiative, we believe that we can influence positive change among the youth by creating an atmosphere of talent and skills development. We are proud of the Langata Southlands and the Beijing raiders teams who have won this year’s tournament. We are hoping to make it bigger and better next year.”

Ms Jackie Tonui, the firm’s marketing Manager said during the cheque presentation. “Our Kenyan youth have a wealth of talent and abilities that are untapped mainly due to lack of opportunity and support. Betika is at the forefront and continues to invest in the youth by nurturing their talent through sports, arts and culture”, Said Jackie.

“I thank all the artisans who came out and made this tournament a success. I also thank Betika for the progress they have made in uplifting sport and supporting Kenya youth.

The Jua Kali sector contributes immensely towards the Kenyan economy. Betika Na Community has come to change the lives of the youth and I am happy that this sector has finally got a chance to be beneficiaries of this noble initiative.” said Kennedy Onyango, the National chairman of Unique Mechanical & Auto Artisans Welfare Society.

FARMER TURNS MILLIONAIRE THANKS TO BETIKA’S 15 MILLION MIDWEEK
JACKPOT!!!

Nairobi, Kenya 27th September, 2021…….

Patrick Gachahi Macharia, a 44year old farmer from Nakuru, is the latest Shs15 Million Midweek Jackpot winner thanks to Betika. Mr. Macharia, who is a farmer and a businessman in Nakuru, correctly predicted 15 games with Ksh15 to take home Betika’s Ksh15 Million Midweek Jackpot. Mr. Macharia relocated to Nakuru in 2013 from Nairobi in pursuit of greener pastures. Macharia started
betting in 2016 with no significant wins, which led him to join and trying his luck on the leading betting
platform in 2018.

“On 21st September, while in Nakuru, I really didn’t have bundles but thanks to the Bet Bila Bundles
option on Betika, I was able to pick my 15-game selection on probably the biggest smart phone. That phone is so big, I’m usually embarrassed to carry it around” he says with a smile. “I usually bet on multiple combinations and spend approximately Kshs. 75 bob every week. I didn’t think much about this Midweek Jackpot combination because I have registered a few periodic small wins. I watched a few games but due to my busy schedule I didn’t look at my slip again until Friday 24th September. Good things do come to those who wait,” said Mr. Macharia. “From 2018, I have been placing bets, even though I registered some wins, I never won a huge amount. I did not give up because I love analyzing games and betting,” he remarked. As for his future plans, Mr. Macharia plans to add more parcels of land for farming, he will buy rare breeds of farm animals, boost his other businesses and of course carry his young family through life.

Speaking during the handover of the cheque, Betika’s Marketing Manager, Jackie Tonui expressed her
delight at Mr. Macharias’ win. ‘’At Betika, we will always ensure that we offer our customers a credible platform where they enjoy their favourite sport as they place their bets on a platform that offers them the best experience with great rewards. Mr. Macharia not only wins Ksh 12M after tax, but we have also partnered with a credible Financial Advisory firm to offer him both financial and legal advice on prudent use. We also encourage all our customers to engage in responsible gaming as they continue betting on the sports that they love’’.

Betika’s midweek jackpot also offers attractive bonuses for punters who get
between 12-14 correct game predictions.

BETIKA NATIONAL SUPER LEAGUE AWARDS 2020/21
Nairobi, Kenya 16 September 2021……. Betika, the leading betting firm hosted a
colourful National Super league awards ceremony at the Serena hotel on Wednesday
September 15th. The first ever awards ceremony for the second division league saw over
11 category winners receive awards and cash prices as a token from the firm.
In November 2019, Betika announced a Ksh 94M partnership with the Football Kenya
Federation to sponsor the National Super League (NSL) in a 3-year partnership deal. The
league which is now known as Betika National Super League comprises of 20 Kenyan
grassroot football teams competing for the coveted winners’ cup during the September
2019 to May 2022 season.
Speaking at the awards ceremony, Mr Nicholas Mruttu, the firm’s Chief Executive Officer
said,“Under the sponsorship, each of the 20 competing teams get Ksh 750,000 per annum
and in-kind provision of kits, balls, nets and other sports equipment. Through the
sponsorship, Betika is the sole and official grassroots football partner for FKF with Ksh
45M going directly to financing grassroot football activities across the 47 counties. Betika
as a firm felt that the sponsorship without recognition will not motivate the teams enough
therefore, we decided to start the Betika National Super league awards. Through the
sponsorship, we have an approximate of 50 players moving from BNSL to KPL every
season, a testament to the league’s improving talent. Through the grassroot community
tournaments, we have created avenues for mashinani teams to get scouted and exposure
to the BNSL league. These are a few reasons that confirms our commitment to investing
in the community through sports, arts and culture with football being a key focus.
Mr Mruttu also acknowledged Talanta FC and Vihiga Bullets who have been promoted to
the Kenya Premier League after the 2020/2021 season.
FKF CEO, Mr Barry Otieno, lauded Betika for coming on board and starting the award
ceremony, “We mark yet another milestone through the Betika and NSL partnership for
our clubs which we believe will go a long way towards not only motivating the clubs’ but
also the players and the grassroot footballers to know that football pays, the love of the
game pays more”.He also noted that there is an increase in the level of competition among
the teams, the league has greatly improved in performance.
In addition to the National Super League sponsorship, Betika organizes tournaments for
grassroot football teams under its ‘Betika Na Community’ initiative. The ‘Betika Na
Community Initiative’ has now grown into a massive movement with huge following
across the country and the firm promised to make the event an annual event to recognize
different players and clubs.

Betika, the leading Kenyan sports gaming firm is at
the forefront of changing the lives of grassroot footballers. The firm is the official sponsor for the
3
rd edition of the GrandPa tournament that will be held in Kibera and will be dubbed Betika Na
GrandPa 1 Milli SuperCup. The winners of the Cup will take home Kshs. 350,000 courtesy of
Betika.
The firm’s aim is to invest in the youth by nurturing their talent through Sports, Arts and Culture.
The aim of the event is to is to create memorable Betika BTL experience through Grand Pa Super
Cup football tournament that will have a pool of 64 teams in Nairobi i.e 48 male and 16 Female
teams.
“At the heart of the community, sports is a way of life with the vision of getting a better life. One
of the most striking things about observing the grassroot players during their training is their
enthusiasm, something that is inspired by football but not confined to it. Many of them have rarely
been supported or even encouraged in their life before, but Betika provided just that support,
giving them a sense of confidence that they channel into improving their own lives outside their
hoods. The selected 64 teams will compete for 12 weeks that’s from the end of September to
Mid December” Said Noah Yusuf known as Refigah
As FKF, we intend to continue supporting the community teams and help them reach league
levels. We also call upon other industry players and sports stakeholders to join Betika in building
Kenyan sportsmen and supporting our own. Football in Kenya is improving and the Football
Kenya Federation has always been committed to ensuring that it develops even further” Said Mr.
Caleb Malweyi Chairperson Nairobi West FKF
“Our plan is to have a 3day mentorship & training session where we will have all the coaches &
team goal keepers taken through serious mentorship program from our celebrity footballers in
conjunction with Betika. During these sessions we will be able to identify, nurture and expose
talents amongst the players, mold the team into responsible members of the community. We are
happy with the strides ‘Betika Na Community’ is making in transforming the lives of our youth.
Sports has this unique power to celebrate our common humanity. It brings people together –
allowing them to meet each other and share a common love for the game, compete on equal
terms, follow the same rules and respect differences even in competition” Said PR Manager
Betika, Kate Arudo
Betika continues to reaffirm their commitment in investing in sports, arts and culture across the
country in 2021.
