The long wait is finally over. The new County Executive Committee Members of the Nakuru County Government have been sworn in today in a ceremony led by our dear Governor H.E. Susan Kihika .

We wish them all the best as they serve the great people of Nakuru County in their different capacities. The court cases have wasted a lot of our precious time, and I therefore believe there is no more time for preliminaries.

County Commander Mr Peter Mwanzo after nabbing 400kgs of bhang with a street value of 14 million Kenya shilling at Ahero area in Bahati Consituency.

Public participation is a requirement enshrined in our constitution on developments touching the public. Nakuru county has started actualising this today by holding forums on Nakuru County Integrated Development plan (CIDP III 2023-2027).

This marks the beginning of the public participations that will be carried across the entire County ward by ward.

In their numbers, Residents of biashara ward in Nakuru town east Sub Couty today attended their public participation that took place at Menengai social hall.

Present were;the Area MCA Fadhili Msuri ,Nakuru east Constituency Admin,Ward admin and the general public who discussed their area of concerns, opinions and views.

Governor Susan Kihika's administration is about inclusivity, moving together and listening to Wanjiku

Their memorandum was handed over to the ward admin and will be considered in implementation plan.

The Nakuru Stanbic Marathon is on this Sunday 27th November 2022.

The race consists of three categories;
i. 21KM race
ii. 10 KM race
iii. 5 KM Family fun race

*The race will be flagged as follows;*

1, (21 KM) will be flagged off at exactly 8:00 AM

2' The second race (10 KM) will be flagged off at 10:00 AM

3,The family fun race (5 KM) will start at 10:15 AM

*Kindly note*

1,Registration in any category is Kshs. 1,000 per person.

2,All registered participants will be provided with a t-shirt and a race number.

3, The winner in the 21KM race will get Kshs. 500,000

4, The winner in the 10KM race will be awarded Kshs.100,000

5. Registration is online on the Stanbic Nakuru City Marathon website.

5. Physical registration will be ongoing at the Rift Valley Sports Club on Saturday.

Today Nakuru County Governor Susan Kihika with the area MCA and other leaders, launched the pipe laying project at Karima Water project that will serve over 900 homesteads and four schools.
Residents of Kigecha, Rare and Karima in Maai Mahiu ward, Naivasha Sub-county will from early next year enjoy water closer to their homes. The water shortage challenges that have faced them will be solved after finishing laying the water distribution pipes.

ARMED ROBBER FATALLY WOUNDED AS POLICE INTENSIFY CRACKDOWN ON CRIMINAL GANGS

An armed thug was shot dead last night in Thika town and mobile phones suspected to have been stolen from innocent victims recovered, as police intensify a crackdown against criminals and criminal gangs.

The thug who was part of a three-man gang attacking members of the public along Cascade Premier prison road, was shot close to the jugular as he attempted to fend off the response by the gallant officers. His efforts came to naught when one of the officers opened fire in self defence, sending the thug sprawling on the ground metres away.

The deafening response sent the remaining machete wielding duo who were also armed with a homemade firearm fleeing, prompting a chase that lasted a few minutes as the determined officers gave chase closely behind.

One of the robbers was finally cornered and arrested while his accomplice disappeared in a storm water culvert, briefly disrupting an incoherent chorus of croaking toads whose abode had just been rudely invaded.

The thug outwitted our officers who gave him another chance to mend his ways and preach the good gospel, lest the fate that befell his departed partner in crime befalls him.

Following the incident, the officers recovered two machetes, a homemade firearm and mobile phones suspected to have been snatched from innocent victims.

A numberless motorbike used by the thugs was also impounded by the officers who towed it to Thika police station as exhibit.

As detectives work round the clock to rid the city of criminals and criminal gangs, members of the public are urged to continue partnering with police for their safety and security.

In the developing city of Nakuru crime has been on the rise and Flamingo TV took it to the streets & residents highlighted gray areas including the high unemployment ratio, police negligence, lack of talent support and the high cost of living. It came to our attention that westernisation and social media has corrupted the youths to live a lavish lifestyle yet most of what we see is fake. Police public cooperation has been tamed by rogue officers who arrest & release known criminals. In the next episode we'll be getting views from the youths in the ghetto to hear their side of the story.
