I moved to Nairobi 10 years ago. It’s seems like a lifetime ago I was texting my sister friend Joan with my phone in the pocket pale Ngara. All I knew about Nairobi at the time was my phone was not safe.

I came to the city to join a traveling theatre company. I had a promising career as an actor. I eventually quit to become a cashier. We rehearsed at Pumwani social hall where I saw teaching an outreach yoga class. Out of curiosity I joined one of the sessions. I slept like a baby that day.

Contrary to what some people think, I didn’t join yoga for spiritual reasons. It was just something I enjoyed, still do. I have converted a few yogis along the way. I’m sure back can agree with me.

5 years later!

5 years? What do you mean? I love a lot of things in life but watching time pass has easily become one of my favorite.
Sitting still has never been a thing I’m good at hence the name Annxiouz.

Annxiouz is a character I create to be wild,to people please, make mistakes, take criticism, create dope s**t, meet even doper people. I don’t know who I would have been the last 5 years without her.

I have high functioning anxiety sometimes crippling but Annxiouz is that girl! Ukimpea ataperform! With anxiety or not.
