Luke 1:30-33~But the angel said to her, “Do not be afraid, Mary; you have found favor with God. You will conceive and give birth to a son, and you are to call him Jesus. He will be great and will be called the Son of the Most High. The Lord God will give him the throne of his father David, and he will reign over Jacob’s descendants forever; his kingdom will never end.”

At Christmas, we celebrate that God stepped into the world through a humble and unexpected way, fulfilling His promise of a Savior whose kingdom will never end. Today's devotion reminds us that Christmas is more than a festive season it is a call to trust God’s plan, rejoice in His faithfulness, and welcome Jesus as King in our hearts and daily lives. As we celebrate with joy, giving, and togetherness, we are invited to live out the true meaning of Christmas by responding in faith and obedience, just as Mary did, allowing Christ’s reign of love, peace, and hope to shape how we treat others

Hebrews 2:14-16~Since the children have flesh and blood, he too shared in their humanity so that by his death he might break the power of him who holds the power of death that is, the devil and free those who all their lives were held in slavery by their fear of death. For surely it is not angels he helps, but Abraham’s descendants

Jesus shared fully in our humanity so that through His death He could break the power of the devil and free us from the lifelong fear of death, showing His deep concern not for angels but for ordinary people like us. Today’s devotion calls us to rest in the truth that Christ understands our struggles and has already won the victory over the forces that try to enslave us through fear, guilt, or hopelessness. We should live with courage and gratitude, trusting Jesus in our daily challenges, refusing to be ruled by fear, and confidently walking in freedom as people who are loved, helped, and redeemed by a Savior who truly knows what it means to be human
