Adapting a play relies on trusting the spark that made you intrigued by the original story you read. It's a delicate balance between being true to the original work while looking for new angles to explore the themes and subject matter. Sanctuary was easy to imagine and build because I'm a nerd that enjoys complex topics 🤣 but also coz I'm curious about people's individual experiences of the world. You can write about the horrors or you can write about how the horrors feel and scare you while shaping you. Catch our show over Valentine's weekend if you are curious about AI horrors

Two hander plays are my home. They allow you to create characters that the audience can fully immerse themselves in. I think they are a great challenge for actors since there's nowhere to hide. They have to rely on and trust each other for the play to flow. While on the topic of chemistry we got great audience reviews about the relationship between Owen & Polly so come through over Valentine's weekend if you haven't caught Sanctuary

Abu Nuuman effortlessly understood the kind of auditory landscape I was trying to create so I'm truly excited about this nomination. He captured all the emotions and beats and the process was so easy and intutive. It's one of my top favourite moments working with a creative.
