It is with deep sadness that we at Ketebul Music acknowledge the passing of Teddy Kalanda, the founding band leader of the legendary group Them Mushrooms, on Tuesday, September 17th. Teddy was not only a remarkable musician but a trailblazer in the Kenyan music industry. His contributions through Them Mushrooms, with timeless hits like Jambo Bwana, shaped the soundscape of our country and inspired generations of artists.

Teddy’s passion for music and his commitment to celebrating and promoting Kenya’s diverse cultural heritage will always be remembered. His work has left an indelible mark on the Kenyan music scene, and his spirit lives on through the music that continues to unite us all.

We extend our heartfelt condolences to his family, friends, and fellow musicians. Rest in peace, Teddy Kalanda – your music will live on forever
