SOME MOMENTS END, BUT WHAT THEY AWAKEN IN US CONTINUES.

As the Diani Coastal Retreat comes to a close, we pause with hearts full of gratitude.

For a few days, we stepped away from the noise of ministry and created room to breathe, listen, reflect, connect, laugh, and simply be present.

We witnessed honest conversations.
We witnessed vulnerability.
We witnessed renewed hope.
We witnessed leaders reminding one another that even those who carry others need a place to be carried.

Our greatest joy is knowing that KAIROS Selah was not simply an event on a calendar. It became an experience.

To every pastor, faith leader, facilitator, team member, partner, and participant who gave their presence to this first experience—thank you. You helped give meaning to the vision.

And to our facilitator, Rev. Dr. Tyler Aaron, thank you for giving more than your expertise. Thank you for your presence, your questions, your listening, and for creating space where meaningful transformation could take place.

We leave Diani with more than photographs.

We leave with conversations to remember, lessons to carry, relationships to nurture, and moments that may quietly become turning points.

COME AWAY AND REST: WHERE THE SOUL FINDS ROOM TO RENEW

When was the last time you rested without feeling guilty about it?

Not because you had finished everything.

Not because everyone was okay.

Not because the bills were paid, the ministry was running, the family was settled, or everyone who needed you had been helped.

But simply because you needed to rest.

There is a kind of tiredness that sleep alone cannot fix.

You can sleep and still feel empty.
You can smile and still feel heavy.
You can preach and still be depleted.
You can encourage everyone else while quietly wondering, “Who is going to encourage me?”

The Bible does not hide this reality.

Moses carried a nation, but his hands became tired—and he needed Aaron and Hur to hold them up. (Exodus 17:11–12)

Elijah called fire down from heaven, yet shortly afterward he was exhausted, afraid, and overwhelmed. And what did God do?

God did not rebuke him.

He let him sleep.
He gave him food.
He gave him space.
Then He spoke. (1 Kings 19:4–8)

David strengthened others, yet there came a moment when everyone around him was discouraged and he had to strengthen himself in the Lord. (1 Samuel 30:6)

Paul carried the burden of churches, yet he too spoke of pressures, fears, and the need for encouragement. (2 Corinthians 7:5–7)

Epaphroditus gave himself so completely to the work of Christ that he became seriously ill. His sacrifice was honored—but so was his need to recover. (Philippians 2:25–30)

And Jesus?

Even Jesus walked away from the crowds.

He withdrew.

He became still.

He prayed.

If Jesus made room for solitude, why do we sometimes feel guilty for needing it?

Perhaps we have confused being available with being faithful.

Perhaps we have mistaken constant activity for spiritual maturity.

Perhaps we have celebrated people for how much they can carry instead of asking whether they are carrying more than they were ever meant to carry.

And perhaps the most dangerous person in the room is not the one who says, “I am tired.”

It is the one who is exhausted but keeps saying,

“I’m fine.”

If you find yourself tired along the journey, do not be too quick to interpret it as weakness or failure.

Sometimes, it is simply a reminder that we are human—and that even faithful people need moments of rest, renewal, and reflection.

THIS IS YOUR INVITATION TO SELAH.

Jesus said:

“Come with me by yourselves to a quiet place and get some rest.”
— Mark 6:31

Notice the invitation.

Come away.

Not run away.

Not give up.

Not abandon your calling.

Come away.

Because sometimes you have to step away from the noise so you can hear what matters again.

🌊 Diani is waiting.
