Meet Micah Maritim Kesit of Kimaiya Jazz Band. Born in 1961 to a family of five in Kimaiya Village of Chepalungu Constituency, Micah Maritim is the last born to the family.

Micah Kesit started his early basic education in 1966 at Kimaya Preparatory before shifting to Emurua Dikirr where he dropped out in class three (3). In early years, Micah engaged in school music and dances that earned him fame and money which prompted him to pursue his music.

Performing his dances at the towns of Chebunyo, Kapkwen and Kimaiya. He later in 1981 relocated to Chemaartim centre in Nandi Hills where he reunited with his elder brother, Mambet Maritim, who was then a casual worker there.

Mambet Maritim the founder of Seet Kobor Band was at the time a renowned guitarist. It is at this time that Micah Maritim picked up motivation to learn the manoeuvres of guitar strings. They would later produce several hits under Seet Kobor Label such as "mummy" etc.

Micah Maritim turned to be a quick guitar learner. Producing his first hit "Kongoi Rais Moi" in 1988 under his established Kimaiya Jazz Band Label before he met David Korir who would become his manager.

David Korir, his manager, let the rubber on the road by organizing several live performance to which Micah himself attributed to have been his breakthrough in fame and financially. Kesit, now a suave guitarist, started releasing hits including Chelemindet, Kitabugan Boskilit etc.

In a music career spanning for four solid decades now, Micah Maritim complains that music piracy has challenged him much that he has somehow picked a demotivation but says he's still at it.
