REFUSE TO BE FOOLISH

A lawyer sold his well to a teacher. Two days later, the lawyer came to the teacher and said, "Sir, I sold you the well, but it's not with the water inside! If you want to use the water, you will have to pay extra."

The teacher smiled and replied, "Yes, I was about to come to you. I was going to say that you should take your water from my well, or else you will have to start paying rent from tomorrow."

You finished university. You have the degree. Now you’re broke, bitter, and wondering why no one’s hiring.

And to parents — stop mocking your kids for “working in a café” after university.

SON: "Daddy, may I ask you a question?"
DAD: "Yeah sure, what is it?"
SON: "Daddy, how much do you make an hour?"
DAD: "That's none of your business. Why do you ask such a thing?"
SON: "I just want to know. Please tell me, how much do you make an hour?"
DAD: "If you must know, I make $100 an hour."
SON: "Oh! (With his head down).
SON: "Daddy, may I please borrow $50?"
The father was furious.
DAD: "If the only reason you asked that is so you can borrow some money to buy a silly toy or some other nonsense, then you march yourself straight to your room and go to bed. Think about why you are being so selfish. I work hard everyday for such this childish behavior."

The little boy quietly went to his room and shut the door.
The man sat down and started to get even angrier about the little boy's questions. How dare he ask such questions only to get some money?
After about an hour or so, the man had calmed down, and started to think:
Maybe there was something he really needed to buy with that $ 50 and he really didn't ask for money very often. The man went to the door of the little boy's room and opened the door.

DAD: "Are you asleep, son?"

SON: "No daddy, I'm awake".
DAD: "I've been thinking, maybe I was too hard on you earlier. It's been a long day and I took out my aggravation on you. Here's the $50 you asked for."

The little boy sat straight up, smiling.
SON: "Oh, thank you daddy!"
Then, reaching under his pillow he pulled out some crumpled up bills. The man saw that the boy already had money, started to get angry again. The little boy slowly counted out his money, and then looked up at his father.

DAD: "Why do you want more money if you already have some?"

SON: "Because I didn't have enough, but now I do.

"Daddy, I have $100 now. Can I buy an hour of your time? Please come home early tomorrow. I would like to have dinner with you."
The father was crushed. He put his arms around his little son, and he begged for his forgiveness. It's just a short reminder to all of you working so hard in life. We should not let time slip through our fingers without having spent some time with those who really matter to us, those close to our hearts. Do remember to share that $100 worth of your time with someone you love? If we die tomorrow, the company that we are working for could easily replace us in a matter of days. But the family and friends we leave behind will feel the loss for the rest of their lives. And come to think of it, we pour ourselves more into work than to our family.

Look at this picture very well. The two mangoes represent classmates or age mates, or people who grew up together. But one natural thing about the two mangoes is that people will leave the green one and pluck the yellow one.

Sometimes, the people you used to teach in school will drive cars before you. It is also natural that people will associate with the yellow one and despise the green one. A successful businessman was growing old and knew it was time to choose a successor for his business, instead of choosing one of the directors or his children, he decided to call all the young directors together.

He said to them, "It's time for me to choose the next CEO of the company, but I am going to give you one special seed which you will plant, water it and bring it back after a year with what has grown from the seed, then I will judge the plant and then choose who will be the next CEO"

One man, named Johnes was there, and he like others received the seed. He went home and excitedly told his wife the story. She helped him get the pot and compost and they planted the seed. Every day, he could water it and watch to see if it had grown.

After 3 weeks, other executives started to talk about their seeds, and how the plants were beginning to sprout. Johnes kept checking the seed but nothing grew. 6 weeks later others were talking about their plants, Johnes didn't have a plant, and he felt like a failure. As time flew, he knew he had killed the seed. Everyone else had plants and trees.

Johnes didn't say anything to his colleagues, but he kept watering and fertilizing the soil hoping the seed would grow. A year finally went by and all the young executives brought their plants to the CEO for inspection. Johnes told his wife that he wasn't going to take an empty pot, but she asked him to be honest about what happened.
