In a great show of solidarity, this historic event at State House, Nairobi is attended by leaders from the East African Community (EAC), who are here to endorse Hon. Odinga’s candidacy. Those present include Presidents Yoweri Museveni of Uganda, Samia Suluhu of Tanzania, Salva Kiir of South Sudan, Prime Minister Gervais Ndirakobuca of Burundi and Rwanda’s Minister of State for Foreign Affairs in charge of Regional Cooperation, James Kabarebe.
On his part, Hon. Odinga has thanked the regional leaders for support, and committed himself to translate Africa’s visionary sloganeering into strategic action for the transformation of our continent.

Pastor Dorcas Breaks Silence After Ruto Abolishes Funding for Her Office.

In a resolute address at the Kiamariga PEFA Church in Mathira, Nyeri County, Pastor Dorcas Rigathi, the Second Lady of Kenya, declared that she would not abandon her boy child rehabilitation programme despite President William Ruto’s recent announcement to cut the budget for her office.

Pastor Dorcas, who is married to Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua, emphasized her unwavering commitment to the initiative she began before assuming the role of Second Lady.

Law Society of Kenya (LSK) President Faith Odhiambo has rejected her appointment on Presidential Task Force on Forensic Audit of Public debt.

LSK has said that the constitutional mandate of auditing the public debt is in the Office of the auditor general (OAG), adding that formation of a taskforce to audit the same is unconstitutional , a wastage of public resources and usurping the Mandate of the the OAG.

Article 229(4) of the constitution mandates the auditor general to audit the public debt within six months after the end of every financial year.

It remains to be seen whether other members appointed to the taskforce will take up the appointment, whose mandate remains illegal in the eyes of the constitution.

To put this into perspective, at an average fuel cost of Sh.100 per liter, Florence Bore used 436,008 liters in a year.

Her Land Cruiser Prado, which consumes about 1 liter per 10 km, would have covered 4,360,080 km. This distance is equivalent to making 54 round trips between the North and South Poles.

In simpler terms, her claimed mileage could buy five similar vehicles in one year.

With a fuel tank capacity of 90 liters, her vehicle would have been fueled 4,845 times that year, averaging 13 times daily.

This equates to traveling around the earth approximately 108 times, covering 10,000 km per day at an impossible speed of 450 km/hr.
