🇰🇪 Happy Jamhuri Day!
As we commemorate Kenya’s Independence Day, we are reminded of the resilience and determination that has defined our journey as a nation. This year, Kenyans have demonstrated an unwavering commitment to justice and accountability.
May this day inspire us all to reflect on our shared history and work towards a future built on unity, transparency, and equality.

Today, as we mark the end of , we stand in solidarity with Kenyans who took to the streets to demand an end to femicide and gender-based violence. Their courage speaks to the urgency of this fight—to create a safer, more just, and equitable society for all.

Tragically, the peaceful protests in Nairobi were met with arrests, violence, and teargas—a stark reminder of the immense challenges Kenyans face when calling for justice and accountability.

We condemn the suppression of peaceful demonstrations and the use of force against citizens exercising their constitutional right to assemble and speak out. Calling for women’s safety is not a crime. Seeking justice for lives lost is not an offence.

The fight for justice continues.

Happy Thursday folks! Here’s what we’ve been listening to, reading and watching this week.

đź“š The Shadow King by Maaza Mengiste, available on Amazon. We love a dramatic, poetic, animated introduction!
🎥 Sweet Bobby: Netflix’s shocking catfish story. The internet is truly dark and unsettling.
🎵 Raye’s My 21st Century Blues, streaming on all listening platforms. Powerful vocals. Think Amy Winehouse vibes, especially "Oscar Winning Tears." Rent was due for Miss Raye!

We all had a common pain point. Kenyan artists did as much as they could to represent and promote civic engagement. A lot of songs that came out of the protests had very impactful messages.
