Matthew 24:45-51
As the year begins, be wise. Don't join the club of fools. Who will spend the 365 days of 2026 doing things that are wrong, things that don't please God and wasting their life because they are not wise. On the 31st of this year those who will be foolish will have nothing to show. They will have wasted 365 days. One of the greatest thing that God has given us is time. The wise spend their time on what is important.
Don't join the club of fools in 2026 who will waste time in sin.
Some of the foolish people, the devil will not allow them to finish the year.
I pray that the devil will not kill you. John 10:10 says he is a thief, kill and destroy. But Jesus has come. In 2026 may Jesus come your way to give you life and to give it to you in abundance in abundance. The foolish are like the people if the days of Noah. They did not listen to Noah as he warned them about the judgement that was coming. Fools don't know, they are always caught by danger while they think they are secure.
May you join the club of those who will serve the Lord and say no to wickedness.

2026 is going to be the year of the Word. As we begin this year may you continously seek the Lord through the word and may you be found wise!

John 6:11-14

The God of Abundance

11 And Jesus took the loaves, and when He had given thanks He distributed them [a]to the disciples, and the disciples to those sitting down; and likewise of the fish, as much as they wanted. 12 So when they were filled, He said to His disciples, “Gather up the fragments that remain, so that nothing is lost.” 13 Therefore they gathered them up, and filled twelve baskets with the fragments of the five barley loaves which were left over by those who had eaten. 14 Then those men, when they had seen the sign that Jesus did, said, “This is truly the Prophet who is to come into the world.”

Jesus performs the miracle of feeding the five thousand, demonstrating God's boundless provision. Starting with just five barley loaves and two fish offered by a boy, Jesus gives thanks and distributes the food to the large crowd seated on the grass. Everyone eats as much as they want, and remarkably, after all are satisfied, the disciples gather twelve baskets full of leftover fragments—far more than the original amount.

This passage vividly illustrates God's abundance: what begins as scarcity multiplies through divine power into overflow, ensuring not only sufficiency but excess. It highlights themes of gratitude, stewardship (as Jesus instructs to waste nothing), and faith in God's limitless resources. The miracle prompts the people to recognize Jesus as the promised Prophet, underscoring how God's generosity exceeds human expectations and needs, inviting believers to trust in His provision in times of lack.

Romans 16:17-20

I am not Simple-hearted

17 Now I urge you, brethren, note those who cause divisions and offenses, contrary to the doctrine which you learned, and avoid them. 18 For those who are such do not serve our Lord [a]Jesus Christ, but their own belly, and by smooth words and flattering speech deceive the hearts of the simple. 19 For your obedience has become known to all. Therefore I am glad on your behalf; but I want you to be wise in what is good, and [b]simple concerning evil. 20 And the God of peace will crush Satan under your feet shortly.

The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you. Amen.

In this scripture, the apostle Paul urges believers to be watchful for people who sow division and create stumbling blocks that contradict sound doctrine, advising them to avoid such individuals. He notes that these false teachers serve their own selfish desires rather than Christ, using deceptive flattery to mislead the naive. Paul praises the Romans' renowned obedience while encouraging them to be discerning in goodness and pure regarding evil. He concludes by promising that the God of peace will soon crush Satan under their feet, and invokes the grace of Jesus upon them.

Join Pastor Wilfred Lai as He uses this part of scripture to caution the church against people among us who cause division and offenses to distract people from sound doctrine only serving themselves instead of serving God.

John 5:1-9

The Power of God's process

After this there was a feast of the Jews, and Jesus went up to Jerusalem. 2 Now there is in Jerusalem by the Sheep Gate a pool, which is called in Hebrew, [a]Bethesda, having five porches. 3 In these lay a great multitude of sick people, blind, lame, [b]paralyzed, [c]waiting for the moving of the water. 4 For an angel went down at a certain time into the pool and stirred up the water; then whoever stepped in first, after the stirring of the water, was made well of whatever disease he had. 5 Now a certain man was there who had an infirmity thirty-eight years. 6 When Jesus saw him lying there, and knew that he already had been in that condition a long time, He said to him, “Do you want to be made well?”

7 The sick man answered Him, “Sir, I have no man to put me into the pool when the water is stirred up; but while I am coming, another steps down before me.”

8 Jesus said to him, “Rise, take up your bed and walk.” 9 And immediately the man was made well, took up his bed, and walked.

This passage powerfully illustrates God's timing as sovereign, unexpected, and perfectly orchestrated, even after prolonged periods of waiting and apparent hopelessness. The man's 38-year ordeal represents seasons of stagnation and repeated disappointment, where human efforts and external circumstances fail to bring change. Yet, God's intervention through Jesus arrives precisely when needed, bypassing traditional methods and delivering immediate restoration, shifting from endless waiting to instant action with a single command. It shows that divine healing doesn't depend on our timelines, "as soon as" conditions, or systemic barriers, but on God's initiative in the present moment, turning stuckness into freedom and encouraging trust that His work continues without delay, even on "restricted" days like the Sabbath. Ultimately, this story reminds us that while we may endure long waits, God's perfect timing brings wholeness when we least expect it, calling us to rise and walk in faith.

1 Kings 18:41-46

The God of Abundance

41 Then Elijah said to Ahab, “Go up, eat and drink; for there is the sound of abundance of rain.” 42 So Ahab went up to eat and drink. And Elijah went up to the top of Carmel; then he bowed down on the ground, and put his face between his knees, 43 and said to his servant, “Go up now, look toward the sea.”

So he went up and looked, and said, “There is nothing.” And seven times he said, “Go again.”

44 Then it came to pass the seventh time, that he said, “There is a cloud, as small as a man’s hand, rising out of the sea!” So he said, “Go up, say to Ahab, [a]‘Prepare your chariot, and go down before the rain stops you.’ ”

45 Now it happened in the meantime that the sky became black with clouds and wind, and there was a heavy rain. So Ahab rode away and went to Jezreel. 46 Then the hand of the Lord came upon Elijah; and he girded[b] up his loins and ran ahead of Ahab to the entrance of Jezreel.

This passage vividly depicts God's abundant provision in response to faithful prayer, transforming a time of drought into one of overwhelming renewal. After a severe famine, the prophet Elijah confidently declares to King Ahab the impending sound of heavy rain, then ascends Mount Carmel to pray earnestly. Despite initial signs of nothing, Elijah persists, sending his servant seven times to check the horizon. On the seventh look, a small cloud appears, rapidly escalating into dark skies, strong winds, and a torrential downpour that ends the drought. This outpouring of rain symbolizes God's extravagant abundance—not just a sprinkle, but a heavy storm that nourishes the parched land, restores life, and demonstrates His power to provide beyond mere sufficiency, rewarding persistence and faith with overflowing blessings.

Pastor Luke Moki, using these scriptures highlights God's abundance as not merely sufficient but extravagant, restoring, refining, and rewarding faithfulness with rain, harvests, and renewed life after adversity

2 Corinthians 4:1-5

Our Gospel

4 Therefore, since we have this ministry, as we have received mercy, we do not lose heart. 2 But we have renounced the hidden things of shame, not walking in craftiness nor [a]handling the word of God deceitfully, but by manifestation of the truth commending ourselves to every man’s conscience in the sight of God. 3 But even if our gospel is veiled, it is veiled to those who are perishing, 4 whose minds the god of this age has blinded, who do not believe, lest the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine on them. 5 For we do not preach ourselves, but Christ Jesus the Lord, and ourselves your bondservants for Jesus’ sake.

Paul expresses shock and dismay that the Galatians are so quickly turning away from the true gospel of grace in Christ to a distorted or "different" gospel promoted by false teachers. He emphasizes that there is no other genuine gospel and solemnly warns that anyone even himself or even an angel from heaven, who preaches a message contrary to the one originally received should be eternally condemned . He repeats this curse for emphasis, underscoring the absolute authority and unchangeable nature of the gospel he proclaimed. The gospel of God is that of grace. Any other message that is contrary is to please the flesh and that is not of God. The grace of God is a higher requirement than the law of God. The Gospel that we are to identify with is the one that exalts Grace higher than the Law. The law cannot save from sin, the grace saves from sin.

Pastor Wilfred Lai recounts the teachings of the Apostle Paul to admonish the church against following the gospel from false teaching that is contrary to that of Grace. Reminding us the true gospel is that of grace that is of salvation of sin and not of law which cannot save us from sin.

Matthew 2:1-12

Jesus the New Born King

Jesus was born in Bethlehem in Judea, during the reign of King Herod. About that time some wise men[a] from eastern lands arrived in Jerusalem, asking, 2 “Where is the newborn king of the Jews? We saw his star as it rose,[b] and we have come to worship him.”

3 King Herod was deeply disturbed when he heard this, as was everyone in Jerusalem. 4 He called a meeting of the leading priests and teachers of religious law and asked, “Where is the Messiah supposed to be born?”

5 “In Bethlehem in Judea,” they said, “for this is what the prophet wrote:

6 ‘And you, O Bethlehem in the land of Judah,
are not least among the ruling cities[c] of Judah,
for a ruler will come from you
who will be the shepherd for my people Israel.’[d]”
7 Then Herod called for a private meeting with the wise men, and he learned from them the time when the star first appeared. 8 Then he told them, “Go to Bethlehem and search carefully for the child. And when you find him, come back and tell me so that I can go and worship him, too!”

9 After this interview the wise men went their way. And the star they had seen in the east guided them to Bethlehem. It went ahead of them and stopped over the place where the child was. 10 When they saw the star, they were filled with joy! 11 They entered the house and saw the child with his mother, Mary, and they bowed down and worshiped him. Then they opened their treasure chests and gave him gifts of gold, frankincense, and myrrh.

12 When it was time to leave, they returned to their own country by another route, for God had warned them in a dream not to return to Herod.

In this scripture, it recounts the visit of the wise men, from the East to Jerusalem in search of the newborn "king of the Jews." Their inquiry troubles King Herod and all of Jerusalem. Herod, feeling his throne is threatened, consults the chief priests and scribes, who inform him that the Messiah is prophesied to be born in Bethlehem, citing Micah 5:2. Herod then secretly summons the Wise men, ascertains the time of the star's appearance, and sends them to Bethlehem under the false pretense of wanting to worship the child himself. The star miraculously guides the Wise men to the exact house where they find the young child Jesus with Mary. Overwhelmed with joy, they worship Him and present gifts of gold, frankincense, and myrrh—gifts fit for a king, a priest, and one who would die. Having been warned in a dream not to return to Herod, they depart for their own country by another route. This passage powerfully establishes Jesus from His infancy as the rightful and divine King, the promised Messiah, recognized and honored by Gentile scholars, while being rejected and plotted against by the political and religious powers of His own nation. It foreshadows the universal scope of His kingdom and the conflict His reign would evoke.

Jeremiah 18:1-7

The Potter and the Clay

18 The word which came to Jeremiah from the Lord, saying: 2 “Arise and go down to the potter’s house, and there I will cause you to hear My words.” 3 Then I went down to the potter’s house, and there he was, making something at the [a]wheel. 4 And the vessel that he [b]made of clay was [c]marred in the hand of the potter; so he made it again into another vessel, as it seemed good to the potter to make. 5 Then the word of the Lord came to me, saying: 6 “O house of Israel, can I not do with you as this potter?” says the Lord. “Look, as the clay is in the potter’s hand, so are you in My hand, O house of Israel! 7 The instant I speak concerning a nation and concerning a kingdom, to pluck up, to pull down, and to destroy it,

The passage describes God instructing Jeremiah to go to the potter's house, where he observes a key metaphor: the potter working at his wheel, shaping a clay vessel. When the clay becomes "marred" or flawed in the potter's hand, he does not discard it. Instead, he reworks it into another vessel, "as it seemed good to the potter to do." God then declares to Jeremiah that just as the clay is in the potter's hand, so are the people of Israel in God's hand. The core theological message is God's sovereign right and loving capacity to reshape, redeem, and repurpose individuals and nations based on their response to Him. It emphasizes divine sovereignty paired with human responsibility—the clay must be pliable for the potter's intent to be fully realized.

Catch up with with Pastor Luke Moki as He encourages us to be teachable as clay is malleable in the hands of a Potter(God) so should we be so that God can mould us into the vessel He pleases for HIs will to be done
