At the Paris 2024 Olympics, Cuban wrestler Mijain Lopez Nuñez made history by winning his fifth consecutive gold medal in the 130kg Greco-Roman wrestling event.

This victory makes him the first athlete to achieve five gold medals in the same Olympic event.

Lopez, 41, won the final with a decisive 6-0 score. After the match, he left his shoes on the mat, a traditional sign of retirement, indicating the possible end of his illustrious career.

Lopez's victory in Paris was particularly remarkable as he had not competed since winning gold at the Tokyo 2020 Olympics.

His longtime training partner, Yasmani Acosta of Chile, won the silver medal. Both wrestlers shared a deep bond, having trained together for nearly a decade.

She was twenty years old, a single mother abandoned by the father of her only child and struggling to make ends meet in America.

One day, while she was taking her shift behind the counter, a young man asked her if he could "join her" behind the counter and "hide" - she explained that he was an actor, and there were some journalists and people in the restaurant who had him recognized.

He was annoyed and a little overwhelmed by the attention, since he was still quite new to the concept of "fame". Luciana had no idea who he was, but she told him:

“You can hide here, but you have to at least make yourself useful!”

So he helped her, preparing cocktails, serving customers, washing and drying dishes.

Luciana and the handsome stranger continued talking. Toward the end of the evening, at the end of her shift, she asked him what his name was.

“Matt Damon,” the boy replied.

They have been married for eighteen years now and have four daughters: he also adopted the eldest.

Triboulet was a jester at the court of Louis XII, king of France from 1498 to 1515

He became famous for slapping the king on the butt.

This act made the king very angry and he threatened to have Triboulet executed. After taking a moment to calm down, the king decided to spare Triboulet's life if he could think of a more insulting apology than the one he had just made to the king.

Triboulet went on to say, "I am so sorry, your majesty, that I did not recognize you! I mistook you for the queen!" While Triboulet's response was clever and indeed more offensive, he broke an order that forbade anyone from mocking the queen. The king decided to proceed with the ex*****on but allowed Triboulet to choose how to die.

With his life in danger, Triboulet responded: "Good father, for the love of Saint Nitouche and Saint Pansard, patrons of madness, I choose to die of old age."

The speechless king could do nothing but laugh. He cancelled the ex*****on and decided to banish Triboulet.

Franz Kafka (1883-1924), who never married and had no children, was walking through a park one day in Berlin when he met a girl who was crying because she had lost her favourite doll. She and Kafka searched for the doll unsuccessfully.

Kafka told her to meet him there the next day and they would come back to look for her.

The next day, when they had not yet found the doll, Kafka gave the girl a letter "written" by the doll saying "please don't cry. I took a trip to see the world. I will write to you about my adventures."

Thus began a story which continued until the end of Kafka's life.

During their meetings, Kafka read the letters of the doll carefully written with adventures and conversations that the girl found adorable.

Finally, Kafka brought back the doll (he bought one) that had returned to Berlin.

"It doesn't look like my doll at all," said the girl.

Kafka handed her another letter in which the doll wrote: "my travels have changed me." The little girl hugged the new doll and brought the doll with her to her happy home.

A year later Kafka died.

Many years later, the now-adult girl found a letter inside the doll. In the tiny letter signed by Kafka it was written:

"Everything you love will probably be lost, but in the end, love will return in another way."
