A wet 24 hours for the north west where amounts over 40mm is forecast!

It will be windy also with gusts exceeding 100km/h in the north west coastal counties! Gusts further inland for Ireland exceeding 80km/h!
Winds will start to ease tomorrow but still windy in the south as we enter Monday!

A band of rain pushing into the west now and some heavy falls possible.

Over 20mm possible in parts of the west in 24 hours.

Winds will increase throughout the day also.

Tomorrow a low pressure system is forecast to push towards Ireland bringing more rain especially to the north west where 60mm is possible in 24 hours with higher amounts possible on higher ground. Strong winds are also expced for Ireland with this system.

🥶 A very cold morning with temperatures down to -5.8°C at Katesbridge in Down and -5.5°C in Thomastown in Kilkenny

Warmer in the west with the cloud cover.

Few localised areas expected to drop to -5 or even -6°C.

Temperatures down as low as -2°C or even lower locally. Coldesnin the East.

Showers will continue to push down from the north throughout the night and these showers will increasingly turn wintry with some accumulations on higher ground. Showers mainly affecting north and west.
