A risk of stormy weather moving towards Ireland as we approach Halloween!

The Jet stream will likely deepen and strengthen low pressure systems and push them close to Ireland.

Still a good deal of uncertainty so just something to watch for now!

So the update is the heaviest rain is forecast to move further west than our update last night!

I am very suprised that Met Eireann have no warnings as pretty much all models are forecasting over 30mm in 24 hours for Kerry, west limerick, Clare, Galway and into Mayo in particular with higher ground likely seeing over 40mm.

⚠️ Heavy Rain forecast tomorrow! ⚠️

That low pressure system I mentioned earlier in the week that is moving south of Ireland. This will bring a spell of heavy rain to Ireland tomorrow afternoon into Thursday!

The south of the country will see the highest rainfall totals with the latest HARMONIE high res model forecasting as much as 50mm in 24 hours in parts of Limerick.

Risk of localised flooding so please take care on the roads!

An update on the storm that was possible for Thursday!

So this system has moved further south and will likely impact France with strong winds and heavy rain..

Good news for us but.....

As this system pushes west another low pressure system is forecast to over Ireland from the north on Friday!

Some Strong winds and heavy rain are expected especially for the north of the country with some warnings possible.

Going to get chillier this week also as colder air pushes in from the west.... some snow on the high mountains is possible on Thursday as low as 700 metres!

There is a risk of a potential storm on Wednesday into Thursday as a low pressure system pushes towards Ireland.

Rainfall along with strong winds could well bring disruption to Ireland.

Still lots of uncertainty but this could pack a punch so definitely one to watch! 👀

Orange Warning comes into affect at 8pm for Cork and Waterford but....

How can Met Eireann give such a vague description for an Orange warning which they describe as 'Infrequent. Dangerous/ Disruptive...

So for more detail a simple description explaining that the worst of the rain is forecast in South Cork and most of Waterford with 30-50mm in the next 24 hours with higher amounts on higher ground which could see over 70mm.

Parts of north west cork meanwhile are only forecast to see 10-15mm in the next 24 hours which once again shows the issues of county by county warning over warnings over area.

There is a risk of some intense showers this evening and these are forecast to push in to the west of the country.

These thunderstorms will likely be isolated but intense with frequent lightning, hail and torrential rain!

Most at risk appears to be western and south western coastal counties but the showers will slowly move further inland.

These showers are forecast to bring a lot of rain in a very short time so added localised flooding is possible!

⚠️ Heavy rain forecast tomorrow!

The latest High Res Harmonie model is forecasting as much as 100mm in 24 hours on higher ground in the south west.

For large parts of lower ground in Cork could see 40-50mm in 24 hours!

Other areas of Cork, Waterford and Kerry are forecast to see 30mm.

Risk of flooding so please take care.
