A dying old man said to his doctor while on the sick bed " Doctor, don’t worry. I know I am going to die. I didn’t want to come here but they brought me here.
Please don’t worry about me, look at my hair, they are gone. I am so old but you are so young. I have learnt a lot from life, if you don’t mind I will tell you some of them before I die.
When I was 4 years, I use to think the world is about me. When I turned 14, I wanted to rule the world. I thought I would be the greatest man that ever lived. When I was 21, I wanted to be the richest man, when I was 25, I wanted to find love, when I was 40, I wanted to be helpful to everyone. Now that I am here, I want to die. You see, I wanted so many things at so many times. Most importantly, I wanted to be happy. I thought the best way to be happy is to listen to others.
When I wanted to enter the University, I wanted to study Zoology but everyone said I should study Engineering that I will be a great Engineer. So I listened to them. I had no one to pay my fees, I had to work and also pay my fees. In my third year, I couldn’t cope with my studies, I had to drop. When I dropped, the same people told me "you should have studied Zoology"!
When I turned 28, everyone said I should marry. That I needed a wife. So I listened to them, I got married. 6 years into the marriage, I caught my wife sleeping with my neighbour. I asked her why and she slapped me. I was angry and didn’t say anything. The next day I returned from work, she had run away with my children, now I am dying a lonely man.
At 40, I got a huge contract. My name was in the news. The next day, all my friends and families were at my house, everyone had a serious problem. Within one week, I spent all the money on them with the promise that they will pay back. I could not complete the contract because they refused to return the money as promised. So I was sent to jail for 6 years. I stayed in jail and I came out. When I came out, they were nowhere.
There was one mistake I made through all this time. Now it is clear to me. Let me tell you about it. I refused to listen to myself. I ignored my own self and listen to others. Now that I am here the only person that is with me is myself.
You see, it is very good to listen to others. It is very wise to seek advice from others. But it is very dangerous to ignore your own self. It is very very dangerous to refuse to pay attention to your heart.
When you get home this night, sit down, take a glass of water. Close your eyes if you want or open it if you want, then talk to yourself, reason with yourself. You can walk down the road alone and as you walk, begin to talk to yourself.
The only person that can overrule yourself is God, after God, listen to yourself next. I know it may not make sense to you now but always remember I told you LEARN TO LISTEN TO YOURSELF.

Zimbabwe Court Sentences Gay Couple to One Year House Arrest , Death Penalty If One Don't Get Pregnant

High court in Zimbabwe has ordered a newly married gay couple to be put under house arrest for 12 months and if by the end of the period none of them will be pregnant, the court further ordered a death penalty.

" The natural law is clear. Man was created and given the obligation to procreate. Marriage is the cornerstone and pilar to that noble duty. Our African values protects this natural law, and if we are to bend and allow such, we must first be shown that this new, western culture will uphold the natural law and continue procreation ..."

Southern African countries agrees to deploy over 3,000 soldiers to Mozambique

This was made known during a one-day meeting, According to report from the "EyeGambia" the Southern African Development Community (SADC) bloc “authorized” the deployment of the “SADC Standby Force in support of Mozambique in the fight against terrorism and acts of violent extremism in Cabo Delgado,” according to the group’s executive secretary Stergomena Tax. However, she did not provide any information on the deployment’s size or timelines.

According to a leaked document from earlier this year, about 3,000 troops should be sent to Cabo Delgado region, where rebels have taken control of towns and villages, causing hundreds of thousands of people to abandon their homes.

The leaders of Botswana, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Eswatini, Malawi, Mozambique, South Africa, Tanzania, and Zimbabwe were present at the discussions in Maputo.

“In 1866, one year after the 13 Amendment was ratified (the amendment that ended slavery), Alabama, Texas, Louisiana, Arkansas, Georgia, Mississippi, Florida, Tennessee, and South Carolina began to lease out convicts for labor (peonage). This made the business of arresting Blacks very lucrative, which is why hundreds of White men were hired by these states as police officers. Their primary responsibility was to search out and arrest Blacks who were in violation of Black Codes. Once arrested, these men, women and children would be leased to plantations where they would harvest cotton, to***co, sugar cane. Or they would be leased to work at coal mines, or railroad companies. The owners of these businesses would pay the state for every prisoner who worked for them; prison labor.

It is believed that after the passing of the 13th Amendment, more than 800,000 Blacks were part of the system of peonage, or re-enslavement through the prison system. Peonage didn’t end until after World War II began, around 1940.

This is how it happened.

The 13th Amendment declared that "Neither slavery nor involuntary servitude, except as a punishment for crime whereof the party shall have been duly convicted, shall exist within the United States, or any place subject to their jurisdiction." (Ratified in 1865)

Did you catch that? It says, “neither slavery nor involuntary servitude could occur except as a punishment for a crime.” Lawmakers used this phrase to make petty offenses crimes. When Blacks were found guilty of committing these crimes, they were imprisoned and then leased out to the same businesses that lost slaves after the passing of the 13th Amendment. This system of convict labor is called peonage.

The majority of White Southern farmers and business owners hated the 13th Amendment because it took away slave labor. As a way to appease them, the federal government turned a blind eye when southern states used this clause in the 13th Amendment to establish laws called Black Codes.

Here are some examples of Black Codes:
In Louisiana, it was illegal for a Black man to preach to Black congregations without special permission in writing from the president of the police. If caught, he could be arrested and fined. If he could not pay the fines, which were unbelievably high, he would be forced to work for an individual, or go to jail or prison where he would work until his debt was paid off. If a Black person did not have a job, he or she could be arrested and imprisoned on the charge of vagrancy or loitering.

This next Black Code will make you cringe. In South Carolina, if the parent of a Black child was considered vagrant, the judicial system allowed the police and/or other government agencies to “apprentice” the child to an "employer". Males could be held until the age of 21, and females could be held until they were 18. Their owner had the legal right to inflict punishment on the child for disobedience, and to recapture them if they ran away.

This (peonage) is an example of systemic racism - Racism established and perpetuated by government systems. Slavery was made legal by the U.S. Government. Segregation, Black Codes, Jim Crow and peonage were all made legal by the government, and upheld by the judicial system. These acts of racism were built into the system, which is where the term “Systemic Racism” is derived.

This is the part of "Black History" that most of us were never told about.”

Next week, President Uhuru Kenyatta and Hon Raila Odinga will take the rehabilitated train service from Naivasha to Kisumu.

In Kisumu, President Uhuru will be launching the rehabilitated port, massive 10,000 capacity Uhuru Business Park, new rail station near Kicomi, Ksh350 million Jomo Kenyatta Sports Ground, rehabilitated State Lodge among other developments.

President will then proceed to Mbita where he will open the Mbita Causeway and then come back to Kisumu for the Madaraka Day celebration at the newly constructed Mamboleo Stadium.

Already Ksh5 billion has been disbursed for the construction of the Mamboleo - Chemelil Road. Though I will personally ask the President to check quality of work as the contractor is doing some shoddy job.

While all these will be happening, the Kibuye second-hand market is proceeding well while KBL factory is roaring as usual.

The President will also make major announcements, including on the sugar factories and need for area residents to go back to cotton and rice farming.

Then you want President Uhuru to be responding to idlers yapping by the roadside. We are completing the journey with

I Am not a Stranger in Africa -
Malcolm X @ Ghana, 1964.

Excerpt from a speech given by Malcolm X at the University of Ghana, 13 May 1964.

"I don’t feel that I am a visitor in Ghana or in any part of Africa. I feel that I am at home. I’ve been away for four hundred years, [Laughter] but not of my own volition, not of my own will. Our people didn’t go to America on the Queen Mary, we didn’t go by Pan American, and we didn’t go to America on the Mayflower. We went in slave ships, we went in chains. We weren’t immigrants to America, we were cargo for purposes of a system that was bent upon making a profit. So this is the category or level of which I speak. I may not speak it in the language many of you would use, but I think you will understand the meaning of my terms.

When I was in Ibadan [in Nigeria] at the University of Ibadan last Friday night, the students there gave me a new name, which I go for—meaning I like it. [Laughter] Omowale, which they say means in Yoruba—if I am pronouncing that correctly, and if I am not pronouncing it correctly it’s because I haven’t had a chance to pronounce it for four hundred years [Laughter]—which means in that dialect, The child has returned. It was an honor for me to be referred to as a child who had sense enough to return to the land of his forefathers—to his fatherland and to his motherland. Not sent back here by the State Department, [Laughter] but come back here of my own free will." [Applause]

He Built all, but did not Build even a House for Himself

Kwame Nkrumah ruled Ghana for 9 years: from 1957 to 1966, under this period he built at least an industry in every region of Ghana,

He built several newly Industrial Cities across Ghana including the Famous Tema and Akosombo industrial cities. These industrial cities housed several industries and production centres which produced nearly all commodity needs of the economy while employing the citizens.

He built roads which are still alive today after 60 years. In fact, Tema Motorway is still the best stretch of road in Ghana as we speak and it was built by Nkrumah.

The Colonial administration that ruled and exploited Ghana intentionally deprived the people of Northern parts of Ghana an access to education or any kind of development in order to force the people living in this areas to move to the Middle and Southern belts of Ghana for free labour. This was a strategy to divide the country so to create enmity among the locals in order that they cannot see themselves as one people or people of equals in order not to unite to fight the colonial exploitation. Knowing this, Kwame Nkrumah open up free eduction to those of us in the Northern belt of Ghana who have suffered such a grave discrimination and exploitation to help us recover when he assumed office as a president.

Again, Kwame Nkrumah built a gigantic African Line Hostel and dedicated this building to serve as a free housing for all African Freedom fighters who seek safety in Ghana. Today, this building has been converted and it is being used as the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration of Ghana.

Kwame Nkrumah did all these and so many others for Ghana and Africa at large without building a single structure of house or home for himself. In fact, Kwame Nkrumah has no house built by himself either in Ghana or Abroad. His only house is the 6 feet land on which he was buried on and the monument which was built in his honor. Yet, he built so much for many generations which we are still enjoying.

The Today's politicians run the state and make losses, they leave huge debt for today and future generations while at the same time profitably running their private business and declaring gains for their families.

Kwame Nkrumah is gone but his spirit and good intentions live on. Rest In Power, Nkrumah never dies.

Join the African Continental Unity Party let us rebuild Africa with a different intention and approach.

This picture doesn't show anything that is new or things we didn't know or something like that.

If we watch United games, we'd know that Harry Maguire is so so important in our general attacking buildup play.

Maguire is such an influence on this team in an attacking sense.

Not surprising to see Aaron Wan-Bissaka in the list too considering he is single-handedly running the right wing all on his own this season.

OPINION | Ole's management and James's attitude has been excellent.

Daniel James started his United's career in style scoring his first goal in the 4-0 demolition of Chelsea. However, as we went into the season, he has had a dip in both form and confidence.

But we will all agree on that James's attitude through his bad spell was praise worthy. He kept on trying and always gave his 100%.

Ole persevered with him but when he started to get worst match after match, he started to bench him for his own benefit and that of the team.

He handpicked games which was adapted for James's and gradually restored his confidence in the long run.

James scored in midweek and played the whole game. Ole could have rested him for Newcastle but he chose to start a player in confidence and it paid off. James came up with a very good display against the Magpies and this has further boosted his confidence going forward.

We don't expect James to score week in week out but in times where Greenwood is underperforming, Amad only recently joining and thus leaving some kind of a gap on the right, a confident James could be very helpful in creating chances or make openings with his runs going forward.

But again, well done Ole and full credits to James who kept going and worked to come back into contention in the first team. Hoping he comes up with such displays more consistently.

It's about time we started calling Fred and Scott McTominay central midfielders and stopped trying to label them as defensive midfielders which they are not. When they can play more expansively, without having to screen our defence, Fred and McTominay are both so much more effective.

Man United without a shadow of a doubt need to sign a defensive midfielder this summer. It's the missing piece to our midfield and both Fred and McTominay can be excellent central midfielders for United, just don't rely on them in a defensive role. It's like putting a square peg in a round hole.
