As Form 1 students reported to the school and underwent the admission process at Kanga High School, Deus John Odero from Suna West and Anwar Busaka broke into tears after arriving at the school with almost empty metal boxes.

Busaka, who scored 396 marks in 2023 KCPE, said he came for the admission the way he was carrying a metal box that was gifted to him by one of his teachers for excelling in KCPE.

On his part, Deus John Odero, who scored 387 marks, said he managed to purchase his metal box from his savings after weeding people's farms.

The two boys come from less fortunate families. They refused to leave the school saying they chose to go past shame and hold on to their zeal to further their education and be better people in the future.

The school expressed that they would admit the boys, hoping that well-wishers would offer a helping hand to educate them.
