MAN KILLS MOTHER after being pardoned on madaraka day by the president

A somber mood has engulfed Njoga village in Mwea East, Kirinyaga County, after a 76-years-old woman was allegedly killed by her son.

Confirming the incident, Mwea East Sub-county police commander Daniel Kitavi said the deceased was killed on Sunday morning with a blunt object, adding that the suspect has since fled their home.

She was reportedly living with her son, who is among the petty offenders released during the recent Madaraka Day celebrations on June 1.

“We have recovered the weapon suspect used for detective launch investigations,” Kitavi said.

Kitavi said the deceased's body was taken to Kibugi funeral home awaiting postmortem as police hunt down the suspect.

President Uhuru Kenyatta in his address directed that petty offenders and inmates serving sentences of less than 3 months be pardoned in line with the law.

Young and Vibrant Chuka University graduate, twenty six years old Ibrahim Karanja a residence of Elburgon Ward has decided to contest the top seat in the great Nakuru city.
Ibrahim Karanja is among six politicians seeking to unseat Nakuru Governor Lee Kinyanjui, serving his first term.
Recently while Karanja was on a campaign trail along Kenyatta Street in the Nakuru CBD While other Aspirants have billboards placed in strategic locations across the county, he has none except one poster mounted on his bicycle The gubernatorial aspirant revealed he vied for the seat so that he could be able to solve the issue of unemployment.
While others could advise him to start with the Member of County assembly seat,he responded by saying , “ If one is suffering Malaria,he/she doesn’t seek treatment for typhoid, He says he doesn’t have issues with the Elburgon MCA nor the Women Representative nor any other but he has Issues with how the county is being run and that the reason he decided to seek the big seat.
As the sun rises and sets in Nakuru City, Ibrahim Karanja rides his bicycle from one street to another, wooing residents to vote for him as Nakuru’s third governor in the August 9 General Election

Yesterday Thursday 14th March 2022 the United Democratic Alliance party Primaries were successful conducted in various parts of the country.
In Kapkures Ward only there were a total no of 15 MCA aspirants who were vying for the same sit and were competitive in their own ways.
The Nominations ended very late in various polling station and Robbert Ruto turned out to be the winner after he garnered 560 votes.
He defeted Former Dcc Elmi Shaffi ,Joseah Chepkwony,Edward Chepsoi,Rollin Chemtai,Michael Chepklewel,Edwin Kibet,Justine Kiprono,Wyclief Nyamweya,Kitur Rausha ,,Zenna Kigen,Richard Mosiori and Caren Cherono.

He will be facing the Jubilee Candidate Joshua Onduko and Independent Candidate David Saikwa in the August Polls.
