Virtue Plus - Monday Reflection:
This morning I want to address a woman leader - your area of leadership and capacity notwithstanding.
Firstly, I want to bring to our attention that a leader is a woman (man) who's entrusted with the FINAL authority and responsibility for decisions and decision making processes. More specifically, 'leadership is a process whereby an individual influences a group of individuals to achieve a common goal' (Northouse, 2019).
With that, I am addressing a multinational organization woman CEO, a national political woman leader, a CBO, a group, a church...and a family woman leader. Yes, this reflection is for you.
There is a unique empowerment that God has bestowed on you, so unique that when you activate it, boldly and courageously, your life and the lives of those God has entrusted to you will forever be changed. What this means dear woman is that 'the destinies of those God has placed in your leadership is in your hands as long as you hold this mandate!'
Selah.
See, a woman called Deborah was at one point Israel's Judge. She delivered God's word to Barak, Israel's troop leader then. The word confirmed God's victory over Sisera, who led the enemy's troop.
What's interesting is that Barak required Deborah to go with him without which he would not go! Selah!
It is immediately after that we see the courage, determination and the hidden power of a woman as Deborah declared: 'I will surely go with you: nevertheless there will be no glory for you in the journey you are taking, for the Lord will sell Sisera into the hand of a woman. Then Deborah arose ...' (Judges 4:9).
What happened next is that of course Deborah accompanied Barak in the war; Sisera the enemy was killed. Why, Deborah arose! She had the conviction of God's word; she believed it. Empowered, she arose and acted!
Friend, the result of Deborah's move is that Israel had rest for 40 years! This is mind boggling - it defeats all manner of intellectualism. It boil
