The Selection Panel for the recruitment of nominees for the positions of Chairperson and Members of the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) has received a total of 1,848 applications. The application process officially closed on Saturday, 15th February 2025, at 5:00 PM.

In a press statement, the Panel’s Chairperson, Dr. Nelson Makanda, confirmed that the verification process has commenced. He said that a long list of all applicants will be released in due course.

"By the deadline, we had received 1,848 applications, including those hand-delivered to the Secretariat on the 3rd floor of County House Building, Parliament Road, and those submitted online in PDF format to [email protected]," Dr. Makanda stated..

Dr. Makanda, in the statement, also reassured Kenyans of the Panel’s commitment to a free and fair process.

“We would like to reassure the public that, the Selection Panel is committed to conducting a fair and transparent process. In this regard, we shall keep the public informed at all stages of the recruitment exercise,” he said.
