During a consultative meeting on the Horn of Africa Gateway Project, Hon. Mumina Bonaya highlighted the issue of locals who skilled, including surveyors and engineers, remaining unemployed while individuals from outside the county are employed.
She emphasized the need to revisit and correct flawed compensation processes to ensure fairness and committed to pursuing these changes with the National Land Commission, Kenya National Highways Authority, and President William Ruto.
7 people were reportedly killed and 3 others injured after unknown gun men believed to be from neighboring Ethiopia attacked the truck they were traveling in.
The attack occurred around 2:30 AM on Monday in the Eledimtu area along Forolle-Turbi road in Marsabit county.
The attackers, dressed in military uniforms and armed with guns, targeted the truck the victims were traveling in, then set it on fire before fleeing back into Ethiopia.
A 16-year-old girl survived by escaping, the area, close to the Kenya-Ethiopia border, had been relatively stable recently.
Police are investigating, but no further details have been released yet.

His security had to protect the governor as he was leaving the market. Sakaja had visited the market following the fire that blazed Toi market on Saturday morning.

Isiolo women Representative Hon. Mumina Bonaya has today launched 7.1 million bursary fund as well as women empowerment.
Empowerment program targets youths 250 youths across the county, while Ksh. 5.4 million grants set to benefits women groups from all 10 wards.
While Ksh.1.7Million bursary fund for Universities and colleges.

In her speech Hon.Mumina condemned her political opponents who she believes their aim is to derail her development efforts so as to advance their interests and assures that their efforts will not alter her from fulfilling her promises for the residents of Isiolo.
