Universities set to triple fees as HELB reduces student allocation by Kshs. 8000!

The big guns have come together again, this time for your student loans and fees.
Universities have been backed by the treasury to increase fees from 16000 to 48000, an increase of 3 times.
At the same time HELB plans to decrease allocation of student loans by 8000.

This two moves will make it hard for students to join university, let alone manage to pay the fees and other expenses.
This will ignite strikes all over the country from comrades who won't afford this hefty fee increase.
As an increase in taxes is expected if the BBI report goes through, this means that the remaining minimal income will make parents choose between educating their children or feeding them.
While the country can afford to fund a referendum, it can't afford to make higher education accessible for the most vulnerable.
Maybe they want the rich only to access these universities.

It his a high time we as the youth and the citizens of the republic of Kenya come together and refuse poor governance, high taxation and all these mischief by our political class.
Unemployment is at the highest in history and yet they are putting laws that will see the people remain poor for the rest of their lives.
This is a case of "make them poor and rule them".
We refuse this move and I repeat it's high time we stood up to these rogue politicians.
