Every development including schools and tarmac roads ended in the tugen borders and other communities that's the reason Tiaty are late in development, now tarmac has come courtesy of Prezzo KIBAKI. NGINYANG MARKET is feeding students and development. GOD will offer us our own County and their is hope oppression will END.

TIATY: LIVESTOCK MARKETS in Tiaty East closed indefinitely following the rampant classes of banditry attacks and cattle thefts; this is according to a directive given by the county government through the office of the area Sub-County administrator dated March 14, 2024.

Visiting the Pokot tribe lands in northern Kenya is a truly fascinating experience that should not be missed. The Pokot people live in West Pokot County and Baringo County in Kenya and also in the Pokot District of the eastern Karamoja region in Uganda. They have preserved their cultural heritage up to today and practice traditional customs like initiations and marriages. The Pokot also developed a rich collection of folklore to pass on a message.

They are part of the Kalenjin community. The Kalenjin are highland Nilotes originating from southern Ethiopia who migrated southward into Kenya as early as 2,000 years ago. Living a life as semi-nomadic pastoralists, the Pokot are completely unaffected by the pressures of modern living.

A visit to the Pokot villages offers a unique opportunity to learn about their traditions and customs. You will get to see highly adorned women carry out vibrant songs and dances as the elderly prepare cloth out of a goat hide, the art of fire-making by rubbing two pieces of wood of different hardnesses together.

“LOST A MEDAL BUT WON HEARTS”
On Saturday, Kenyan athlete Simon Cheprot was on his final seconds to winning the the 2019 Okpekpe International 10Km race when something suddenly happened.

Suddenly, he saw his Kenya colleague and rival Kenneth Kipkemoi collapse just as they were approaching the finish line. How heart breaking that is 😭😭

To the surprise of many, Cheprot dropped his ambition of winning the Okpekpe title for a second time and instead stopped to pick his colleague, lifted him up and they both walked slowly until they finally crossed the finish line. They finally finished at position 15 and 16.

Fans at the venue and those watching on live TV hailed him as a hero and for being a brother’s keeper.

The Nigeria IAAF representative Mike Itemuagbor described him as “our hero” and later rewarded him 1 million shillings for his humanitarian effort.

The organizers of the 7th Okpekpe International 10km Road Race also rewarded him 1 million shillings for being "brother's keeper".

Cheprot went to Okpekpe, ran and left as a hero. He did not win any medal but he won hearts.
