Kahit hindi nakapagtapos ng high school, may mga natutuhan pa rin si Nanay Jen na ibinabahagi niya sa mga batang sabik sa kaalaman. Ang kanyang tahanan, nagsisilbing klasrum sa mga batang nagnanais na matutong magbasa at magsulat. Araw-araw, nagpapakain at naghahatid din siya ng 30 bata sa kabilang isla para sa pagpasok ng mga ito sa paaralan.
Paano nga ba nagsimula si Nanay Jen sa kanyang pagmamalasakit sa mga bata? Bakit kaya niya ito ginagawa?

"Every Halloween I give out books for the neighborhood along with the candy and other goodies, and the teenagers are usually the ones who love it the most.
Two nights ago when packing up feeling a little discouraged as I didn't get as many kids as I did last year, a family comes up to me and says, "We just got done talking to a pair of teenagers who were so excited about the books they got from you! They said it helped make their Halloween!"
It made all the work worth it! I plan to continue with this tradition as long as I can!"

We invite you to apply for a booth at the Mindanao Book Fair, happening this March 17-19 at the Abreeza Mall in Davao City. Six successful applicants will get a FREE booth at the three-day event, sponsored by the National Book Development Board (NBDB).
This promo is exclusively for independent publishers and booksellers who have ready merchandise, but need funding for the booth rental and basic set up. Recipients will get a 2x2 meter booth consisting of two monobloc chairs, two wooden shelves, and a table. You are free to design your space in any way you want!
Here are the requirements for application:
1. An NBDB certificate of registration. If you are not yet registered, you may get started here: bit.ly/NBDBeRegEnterprise
2. A letter of intent addressed to NBDB’s Executive Director.
3. The list of titles you intend to sell at the fair. Download the data template here: http://bit.ly/3XhsW7k

Happy love month everyone! A lot of our friends have sent books to Romblon so our program partner Ms. Mary Joy was able to further reach out to a preschool in Odiongan, Romblon. Again, thank you to all our friends who continue to touch the lives of these little children.
Our project will continue to run as long as there are people like you who have a heart for our kids. Your pre-loved hard-bound books are also very much welcome :) Let's fill these preschools with books to help our children enjoy the world of reading!
