Fun and educational visit to the 2025 World Expo in Osaka. Focus was on health and technology. Didn’t have enough time to see all we wanted to so will go back in September. Impressive site with some very cool temporary buildings and exhibits. Buy your tickets early, reserve popular pavilions and bring some snacks.

Morning Routine - walk Ms.M to school bus, look for wildlife with Rugby (dog), a black coffee and some sunlight. Everyday rain or shine. Usually with hubby but he is traveling right now. Allows us to catch-up, think about our day ahead and get morning light.

People often ask me how I consume 150 grams of protein a day. Not an easy feat, but lunches like this make it possible. Sashimi with okura and tofu has 49 grams of protein. Luckily we have sashimi in all supermarkets for reasonable prices.

Wednesday healthy homemade meal. Focused on in-season foods and fermented ingredients. Grilled yellowtail (buri) with daikon, steamed okra with shiokoji. Miso soup with tofu and nameko mushrooms, and white rice with natto. Macros: protein 41g, fat 26g, carbs 45g, fiber 2.8g (too low). Total cal 573.

One of my favorite smells of spring coming soon is kinmokusei (Osmanthus). It is now blooming all over Tokyo and brings sweetness to my morning walks. Yuskin brand has a new kinmokusei fragrance that smells great, is not greasy and contains no paraffins or coloring. Sold in many convenience stores in Japan for under 1,000 yen.
