【Oze National Park】
Oze (尾瀬) is a national park and excellent hiking destination in the mountains about 150 kilometers north of Tokyo. Its most well known features are the Ozegahara Marshland and the Ozenuma Pond.
Surrounded by tall peaks, Oze National Park is a mountain wetland that extends into the four prefectures of Fukushima, Tochigi, Gunma, and Niigata. Truly breathtaking scenery can be found at Ozegahara Plateau, the largest marsh on Japan's main island of Honshu, as well as at Lake Ozenuma, which was formed when volcanic eruptions dammed the headwaters of the Tadami River. This rich natural environment is home to the Japanese Serow, a nationally protected species, and popular with hikers who enjoy its beautiful yellow Broad Dwarf Day Lillies that bloom in summer.

【Noshiro Tanabata “Tenku-no-Fuyajou” (能代七夕「天空の不夜城」)】

Noshiro Tanabata “Tenku-no-Fuyajou” is a festival that began in 2013. However, the Noshiro region had a traditional summer Tanabata festival from the old days. It is said that people used to pull a castle-shaped lantern float (Toro) decorated with gigantic shachi (mythical animal with a head of a tiger and the body of a carp) all across the town. According to historical text, a Nagoya Castle-shaped lantern float was made more than 100 years ago during the Tempo era, and due to its popularity with citizens that this 17.6m tall Toro was paraded across town till dawn.
As a result of modernization, electrical wires were laid throughout the city limiting the height of the Toro. 7 to 8m tall floats were pulled in recent years, but the burying of electrical wires have allowed massive Toros to parade again. In 2013, a 17.6m tall giant Toro, named "Karoku", was carefully replicated based on old pictures and texts, reviving it after a whole century. In 2014, "Chikasue", a 24.1m high and tallest Toro in Japan was completed.
Two large lanterns floats are paraded through the streets of Noshiro: the 17.6-meter-tall Karoku float and the 24.1-meter-tall Chikasue float, the tallest castle-shaped lantern in Japan.
The splendor of the large colorful lanterns is magnificent and breathtakingly beautiful.

【Tambara Lavender Park】
In the summer months, Tambara’s gentle ski slopes transform into a blanket of flowers. There are 50,000 lavender plants and various species—early-blooming, mid-season, and late-blooming—which ensure a long flower season that lasts from early-July to late-August. The park has over 100 kinds of flowers, including some smaller gardens of sunflowers, hydrangeas, daylilies, and bergamot, making for plenty of photo opportunities. The park’s ski lift, the Woody Line Summer Lift, provides birds-eye views over the flower fields.
