The 14-track project dropped May 14 2021, debuted at the #2 position on the Billboard Reggae Album charts and #56 on the US Current Albums Sales chart after its first initial week of sales and streams. Top Prize also captured the #1 spot on Amazon Music’s best-selling album charts in three categories – International, Reggae and Caribbean& Cuba for several weeks and saw all 14 tracks from the album occupying Deezer Top 100 playlist in Jamaica....

DMX died April 9, one week after he was admitted to White Plains Hospital in New York when he suffered a heart attack. The Council Chamber of the Amsterdam Court has extended the pre-trial detention for Reggae singer Jah Cure, until January 2022. This in relation to to an alleged stabbing incident involving a Promoter, in the Netherlands. He was arrested on October 1. He's charged with suspected of attempted murder, attempted manslaughter, aggravated assault or attempted aggravated assault. Jah Cure, real name Siccature Alcock, is known for hits such as "Unconditional Love", "Reflection", "What Will It take" and many other singles. The entertainer who spent his 43rd birthday in jail on October 11, also teased music via his Instagram earlier this month.

The local currency depreciated by $0.37 against its US counterpart on Monday, according to data from the Bank of Jamaica’s daily foreign exchange trading summary. The Jamaican dollar closed trading at $154.56 on Monday from $154.19 on the previous trading day. Meanwhile, the Canadian dollar settled at J$129.49, up from J$125.51, on Monday, while the pound sterling ended trading at J$210.14 down from J$212.78.

Standard & Poor’s said on Tuesday that its S&P CoreLogic Case-Shiller national home price index posted a 19.8% annual gain in August, the same from July — remaining at an all-time high. The 20-City Composite posted a 19.7% annual gain, down from 20% a month earlier. The Statistical Institute of Jamaica (STATIN) has developed Export and Import Price Indices (XMPIs) that will measure quarterly price changes in the country’s goods inflows and outflows. Director General, Carol Coy, unveiled the new product during STATIN’s digital quarterly media briefing on October 20, where the main indicators for the 2020 calendar year were released. She said that the development of the XMPIs is geared towards satisfying changing user needs and reflects the structural changes in the Jamaican economy....

He has been identified as 26-year-old Orlando Irons assigned to the Fugitive Operation Team in the St. James Division. After being canceled in 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Jamaican government has given the Inter-Secondary School Sports Association (ISSA) the green light for the staging of schoolboy football this season. ISSA said its Organising Committee is currently finalising arrangements to commence the Manning Cup and DaCosta Cup competitions on Friday, November 12, or Saturday, November 13. ISSA is also stipulating that it will be mandatory for all players and officials wishing to participate to have received at least one dose of the Covid-19 vaccine before the start of the competition....
