As brilliant (in fact, world-leading) a track and field analyst as he was, Hubert Lawrence was so much more: he was a keen and curious observer of life with a considered opinion on many subjects, without ever being overbearing; he had a sharp yet understated wit and was always up for a chat....he was a class act. RIP Hubert, Champs and the Paris Olympics just will not be same
