These are small window sets, presented simultaneously in Hermés stores in Milan and Rome. Marked by a joyful style, precious for its lightness and mastery of sign, Kazumi Yoshida calls these sophisticated toy theaters “an elegy of color, a celebration of chromatic chords, similar to a musical scale. Color, as the materialization of light and the light spectrum it contains, is for Yoshida both matter and abstraction. Color as an emanation of pure light.”

The anthropomorphic figurations recall illustrious fathers, Marc Chagall for his poetic, fairy-tale world nourished by a naive childlike imagination, as well as the plastic drive of Fortunato Depero's decorative language of the avant-garde theater of the second futurism.

It is important to realise that the word has come to mean the opposite of its original meaning: ‘revolution’comes from ‘re’ and ‘volvere’; ‘volvere’ means to turn, so, with the prefix ‘re’. you turn once and then you turn again and you are in the same place you started!

Often depicted in the armour of her traditional dress, almost always smiling, the istmeña woman is the subject and object of this first narrative, which responds to the need to no longer be represented by a patriarchal gaze. Born from travels, returns, and long stays in the Isthmus of Tehuantepec (Oaxaca) in Mexico,
Corazonada is a project by Giulia Gatti, realised with the collab-oration of the women who inhabit these places. Female bodies united in their latent desire for independence, freedom, and power; bodies that identify in themselves the desire to subvert the scenarios that were drawn by norms and external appro-priations over time.
They play together to build new scenes, creating stories that have yet to happen, where the feminine seizes elements tied to power. Symbols of eroticism, hunting, and mystery.
This work is playful with all the stages – natural, cultural, or normative – of the female body, and it is animated by the attempt to sow provocation on the fertile ground of tradition.

The selection of projects set up between 2022 and the current year tells of a new course and new attitudes. Young artists with versatile profiles, characterized by languages ranging from painting to sculpture, illustration, graphics, and self-made design. True to the cultural imprint and tradition of Hermès group, these projects open new paths: sustainability, circular econ-omy, freshness, and great irony. They are exemplary style exercises that confirm the great quality of Hermès’ research, which since its birth has unconventionally affirmed the values of fine craftsmanship and the new cultural values of beauty.

The Gardner

The subject-gardener is simultaneously the object-fruit, creating a reversal between giving and receiving. Alice becomes a flower and a plant to become part of a surreal garden. This representation of the female body as a seed invokes the incubating power of soil, transcending contemporary deadly exploitations, in communion with mother earth.

The Gardner - We cultivate, gather, and exploit our gardens, nurturing them to receive their fruits. A garden begins in the intimacy of a hand touching the earth, turning the soil, sowing or casually uprooting one form of vegetation to give breath to another. Human beings are selectors, fertilisers, reapers – protagonists
of a selfish care relationship.

In The Gardner – a project under development – Alice Hualice envisions a parallel between the work of the gardener and that of the artist, who dedicates time to cultivate their own fruits. In her case, she spends her time embroidering, evoking ancestral imagery. A meticulous application directed towards the blooming of the immaterial part of the self and the unconscious, towards something not immediately consumable.
