Tracking my trusty Harley Benton lap steel for a new song of the "Britannica" project at Think Ahead Studio . This little fella is loaded with a DiMarzio Fast Track pickup and it's going through a Boss CS3 compressor, a Crowter Hot Cake overdrive and then into a '65 vintage Fender Bassman driven to 9. From there the signal goes into an Harley Benton power attenuator and into Peavey Electronics Vintage King 4x12 cab miced up with a Shure SM57 and a Russian ribbon blended together on a single bus from my John W Oram Oram T16 desk. Then it's just Pro Tools Studio.

I Just finished tracking a Fender Telecaster through a Fender '66 vintage Super Reverb amp. Two tracks each of them with a slightly different sound: one using the amp's own tremolo and the other using a Carl Martin Purple Vibe pedal. Both guitars are slightly compressed through a Boss CS3 and both are using the amp's own luscious reverb straight into two (blended) mics (a JZ Microphones V67 and a Russian ribbon) placed on different cones. What a sound!!!
This is for the fourth track of the "Britannica" project, coming out very soon.

The kit is a Gretsch Drums Catalina maple set with Paiste Cymbals except for a Zildjian Company china boy and a Yamaha Drums snare.
The microphones I'm using are an AKG D112 and a JZ Microphones V67 on the kick, an Oktava MK-012 and an AKG D1000C on the snare, two AUDIX D2 on the toms, a Sennheiser MD421 on the floor tom, two Russian ribbon mics as overheads and two Antelope Audio Verge as room microphones. The very last one is the desk talkback mic for a "mono" room sound (soooooooo phat!!!).
