All DRAPsound Replica Tones® patches, with the exception of Kemper Rigs, are sold inclusive of a specific IR for each individual sound. This is not only a single speaker/cab emulation IR, DRAPsound IRs are the synthesis of an entire emulation process that we use to create our exclusive "Replica Tone®": an extremely faithful replica of the real analog sound created with our collectors' amps and pedals.

After 4 years of DRAPsound, from the questions we receive privately, we deduce that many still don't understand the difference between a DRAPsound preset and a normal preset made with IR or cab or profiling. So, let's try to explain it again.
First, let's understand what a profiler (Kemper, Tonex, Neural Amp Modeler, Quad Cortex, Headrush Prime, Mooer Studio) does:
A profiler takes a "sonic snapshot" of a guitar sound, including the cabinet and microphone setup, but without effects.
In other words, in the studio, an analog sound is created with stomp/head/cabinet/mic, and the profiler automatically takes a "sonic snapshot" of this dry sound (without chorus, reverb, compressors, wah, delay, etc.).
On the other hand, a modeler (Helix, Fractal, Mooer, Ampero, etc.) has an internal library provided by the manufacturer at the time of purchase, containing Stomp, Amp, Cab, IR, EFX, which can be combined to create the preset if you have the skills and capabilities.
So, what sets apart the "REAL TONE" of DRAPsound?
Regardless of the digital machine used, whether it's a profiler or a modeler, DRAPsound presets are a FAITHFUL COPY of the analog sound obtained in the studio, including all effects, compressions, modulations, reverbs, and delays.
How do we achieve this?
We create the DRY part of the sound (without effects) using mathematical algorithms (which, for commercial reasons, we cannot reveal), starting from the internal library provided by the machine, thanks to special IRs that are not cabinet emulations but should be considered an essential part of the sound and the specific preset (so they cannot be used on other presets except in a purely "random" manner).
As for the EFX part of the sound, we program it based on almost 40 years of experience working as sound engineers, relying on our "EAR" and a deep "KNOWLEDGE" of all the machines available in the market.
On the DRAPsound website, there are many video examples, but we'll post one recent example: Egidio Marchit
Egidio Marchitelli plays his new DRAP_EM pack (3 presets) for HOTONE AMPERO II. #hotone #hotoneaudio #hotoneampero #hotoneampero2 #ampero2
I remind you that the pack of presets dedicated to the great Mark Knopfler is available on the DRAPsound website!
(Already available for Kemper, Helix, Pod Go, Ge300 and GE300lite but soon it will also be available for Headrush / Fractal / Quad Cortex / and the whole MOOER family)
I would like to thank the talented Carmine D'Onofrio for this further video: the solo of Sultan Of Swing which has gone down in history!
Can you emulate the sound of a bass amp that made history with an IR? Listen to the video and judge for yourself!
