Jean had friendships with many Duran Duran fans over the years and often welcomed them into the family home during the early days. La professionalità paga sempre, non come fanno alcune giornalaie pseudo professioniste.

Duran Duran was recently honored with the Malafemmena prize, designed by the journalist Barbara Carere and organized by B&G Art Event Communication with the patronage of the Tourism Department of the Municipality of Naples.

The Malafemmena Award is dedicated to the great Neapolitan actor Antonio De Curtis. For twenty editions, it has been awarded to illustrious figures from the world of music, sport, art, culture, medicine and entrepreneurship... and now, Duran Duran!!

Many thanks to Barbara, B&G and the municipality of Naples for this award!

Due anni facemmo recapitare al management della band, Wendy Laister, le copie del disco omaggio per la loro straordinaria carriera. Tantissime persone parteciparono a questo disco, messaggi vocali di ringraziamento inseriti in questo bellissimo vinile, e quattro tribute band italiane, che hanno omaggiato i Duran Duran con pezzi in chiave originale.
Un lavoro duro e costoso, ma felici di averlo fatto.

Che a Simon piacesse l'italia lo dimostrò già nel lontano 1985, in occasione del famoso video di "A View to a Kill", indossando un basco militare Italiano, con il fregio dei Carristi, un distintivo circolare indossato dal personale dell'Esercito Italiano, simbolo di modernità e di avanzamento tecnologico nell'ambito militare. Il fregio basco Carristi è riservato ai membri dell'Esercito che hanno ricevuto una formazione specializzata nella guida e nell'utilizzo di carri armati.

Come tutte le cose belle c'è un inizio e una fine, ma quello che abbiamo vissuto a Lucca ci rimarrà nel cuore per sempre.
Un ringraziamento speciale va a tutto il Team di Duran Duran Radio, che si è impegnato ogni minuto a regalarvi attimi di gioia e di emozioni.
Un particolare ringraziamento va a lui che, malgrado la sua giovanissima età, è uno dei più importanti collaboratori della radio, Emanuele Esposito.
Pur di abbracciare i nostri ragazzi, Ema ha fatto la spola tra Firenze e Lucca, senza un aggancio, ne ex fidanzate.. è riuscito comunque ad abbracciare altri membri della band.
Speriamo di avervi regalato attimi di gioia con le nostre dirette, avremmo voluto filmare più a lungo, ma per motivi di copyright, e dei soliti invidiosi, ci siamo attenuti a quello che ci è stato detto dal management.
Grazie a tutte le persone che hanno raggiunto Lucca, dimostrando ancora una volta, anzi due, l'enorme amore che noi italiani abbiamo verso questa straordinaria band.
Prossimo evento sarà il 14 ottobre 2024, festeggeremo negli Stati Uniti il nostro decimo anniversario, stiamo valutando di spostare il volo per fine ottobre, per vedere i ragazzi al Madison Square Garden il 31 ottobre, ma sarà molto difficile. Vorrà dire che festeggeremo il decennale e Halloween girando per le strade di NY con la loro maglietta ;)
