Questa notte su Battiti (Radio 3) il nuovo album dei Tristan da Cunha e la folgorante collaborazione tra Dennis Callaci (The Refrigerator, Shrimper Records) ed Heimito Künst.
Assolutamente da non perdere!!!!

Una forma canzone che si fonde e talvolta si trasforma in materia dronica, flussi sonori vaporosi e onirici, strati di rumore e paesaggi lunari. Una parte della notte di Battiti la passiamo con il nuovo capitolo della collaborazione tra David Lynch e Chrystabell, l’intreccio di melodia e avanguardia del nuovo disco di Tashi Wada - condiviso in gran parte con Julia Holter -, le metafore sulla narcolessia di Ekin Fil e il suo recente “Sleepwalkers”, la raccolta di collaborazioni dell’artista multidisciplinare Louis Carnell e due recenti uscite Dissipatio: il ritorno dei Tristan da Cunha e l’incontro tra Dennis Callaci ed Heimito Künst

‘All sounds in this record were collected in solitary afternoons or sleepless nights, while studying electric guitar and effect boxes, an FM synth and a sampler, and were taken care of as if they were plants that you would move around the house to see where they like it best.
Occasionally they met other sounds from far back in time, and they got along well.
All these sounds talk to me of fragility and effort; to me they taste like gratitude and affection and joy’

eKPYrotic is an improvised music duo formed by Mirco Ballabene on double bass and electronics, and Massimiliano Furia on percussion.

The electronics, created with MaxMsp, could be defined as the third element, because it guides the path of the musicians who, in turn, determine its breathing and dynamics in real time through a midi foot controller managed by Mirco. This organic, living electronics often becomes indistinguishable from the sounds generated by musicians, acoustic sounds which, through extensive techniques and instrument preparations, integrate with synthetic sounds, merging into a single extremely fascinating timbral and gestural path.

eKPYrotic refers to the theory of the ecpyrotic universe, the cosmological model which theorizes that the birth of the universe derives from the accidental collision between two branes, Big Splat, and which preceded the Big Bang. Thus the clash/encounter between the two musicians intends to create a sound universe that has its own internal coherence and, like scientific theory, wants to go beyond the usual paths to show courageous alternatives to commonly accepted thought and expression.
