“For many of the figures surrounding Pinocchio, I have looked for references that are not too far away in time from the era in which the story is developing. For example, the character of Fire-eater is inspired by my favorite statue, "Ercole e Lica" from Canova, which represents Hercules hitting his servant in a moment of great fury. This reference was perfect for capturing the impetus of the Fire Eater's whipping.”

𝗪𝗵𝗼 𝗶𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘀𝗼𝘂𝗹 𝗯𝗲𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗱 𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗣𝗶𝗻𝗼𝗰𝗰𝗵𝗶𝗼?
We looked for an internationally renowned artist whose style would marry well with the story of the puppet who wanted to become a boy, one which could be traditional and contemporary at the same time, and in the end the choice was simple and natural: Luca Zamoc.

Luca Zamoc, born Luca Zanni (Modena 1986), is a contemporary artist whose work explores the relationship between man and nature through a site-specific approach. His work investigates the relationship between place and memory through storytelling, developing an aesthetic research that embraces different media, with a focus on muralism and public art. He has taught Drawing and Illustration at Polimoda in Florence, collaborated with numerous national and international publishing houses, and painted in European and non-European public contexts. His most notable exhibitions include Matronalia, Unfinished Festival, Bucharest (2022) Agni at Gallery D406, Modena (2021); Listening Beauty in the Mosaic Room of the Classense Library, Ravenna (2021); Baba Yaga at the Street Art Museum, St. Petersburg (2018); Ca' Zemian in the refectory of Massimo Bottura, Modena (2017); The Art of the Multitude for Prada, Milan (2013).

He currently lives and works between Milan and Athens.

We begin to show you some details of our editions by starting from inside the book, the layout of which will be the same in all editions.
The standard endsheet / guard cards is usually white, but we chose to decorate it with an illustration of Luca Zamoc's Cricket, silkscreened with natural colors.
