CIAO APO ❤️! (1.9.2013 - 3.1.2025) 3/3_We spent our last night together, after the vet told me he was slowly dying. We were close to each other the whole night: I whispered memories in his ear, reassured him that I was there, held his paws, stroked his head and nose (he always loved that!), even sang (badly!) songs to him that I made up on the spot, and did everything I could to make him feel warm and comfortable. I told him over and over again how much I loved him, how grateful I was to have met him and how much I appreciated everything he had taught me and given me unconditionally. Yesterday morning he fell asleep a few minutes after I called the vet saying I was ready for his shot. Apo left, showing that he didn’t want to disturb any human: he did it all by himself, with great strength and courage. allowing me - despite everything - to have him close to me all night. As if it was his last gift to prove once again to me and to all of us humans how LOVE is stronger than any kind of hate and resentment. Daphne, who was the girlfriend who gave him so much love and companionship over the past four years, was also there to watch over him. He started his last journey holding in his paws a small paper ball made by me a little while before: it was the first game we played with when we met, and his favorite game in his entire life. This was my humble and small way of telling him “HAVE FUN WHEREVER YOU ARE GOING TO ! I LOVE YOU, my special baby boy!” Come back here every now and then to check on us, Daphne and me. We will miss you greatly but you already own a special place in our heart, forever ! Farewell , Apo❤️! AND THANK YOU FOR ALL YOUR LOVE!
