“Resistance” is an ambient music EP that delves into the intersection of ecology and capitalism, weaving a narrative of defiance and hope through its tracks. “How Dare You, Pigs? (Fight)” sets the tone with its raw energy, symbolizing the rebellion against environmental exploitation. “Sea Whispers (Think)” invites contemplation amidst the tranquil sounds of nature, prompting listeners to reflect on the interconnectedness of all life forms. “Birth of a New World (Invent)” emerges as a beacon of optimism, showcasing the potential for regeneration and collective action. Finally, “The End? (Keep Fighting)” serves as a reminder to persevere in the face of adversity, urging listeners to continue their resistance against all kinds of exploitation. Through its evocative soundscape, “Resistance” inspires listeners to advocate for a sustainable future and emancipation by challenging the hegemony of capitalism.
The EP was made by Ground16 for the Berlin-based art-science collective I-opener. At its core, I-opener is an immersive video installation that aims to cultivate a deeper sense of ecological awareness. To do so, it creates an interaction between the public and the art medium. Each screening of the immersive and interactive video installation lasts around 15 minutes and represents a generation on earth. Music plays a special role in each of the installations taking place across the world: through immersion participants are led to rethink their relationship with the global ecosystem.
