BRAND NEW RELEASE!!!!
DEEP INSTRUMENTAL ROOTS💥💥💥
Years ago we were lucky enough to get an incredible and uncredited Acetate with a deep instrumental cut of Satta Massagana , long story short after few weeks we got it the plate totally cracked and became unplayable. We managed to send the plate to Rome at Vinyl restoration who made a little miracle and somehow fixed it well enough for us to export a digital crackling recording of it to keep in our archives.
Few years later , we played the noisy recording to the great musicians from Dig This Way All Stars and we decided it was absolutely the case to attempt a modern remake of it. Thats how Abeng , Sere and Monz made the structire of the Riddim , than Rootikal Horns handled the Trombone and Sax version , Nicola Gallo did the Organ part and Jonny De Ambassador played the percussions!
The final touch is done by Yakka who mixed a couple wicked dubwises of it and Pressure Mastering that made it sounds proper!
The 45rpm is pressed in 250 black copies and 50 coloured wax limited editions that will be sold only thru our bandcamp page.

Da domani inizia una nuova avventura , una collaborazione tra Dig This Way Records e che per qualche settimana/mese , tutti i Giovedí porterà il meglio della "World" music nella bellissima Serra presente negli spazi di Combo Milano ♥️
Un aperitivo musicale dove cercheremo di viaggiare nelle svariate selezioni che abbiamo creato in questi anni , dall'Africa ai Caraibi passando per il Sud America , dagli anni 50 ad oggi attraverso decine di stili e culture differenti. Disco é Cultura e noi cercheremo di portare la nostra cultura musicale a Combo! In futuro lo spazio si aprirà ad alti selectors di musica World...noi intanto facciamo da warm up per questa bellissima iniziativa!

Few days ago we revived a project from 1 year ago , AFRICAN LIBRARY, a YouTube channel focused on "Traditional" African records from the 40's to 90's , we will slowly add our archive online , it's huge and still expanding so will take probably years of work. We are progressing totally randomly. We will probably add some LP's too but now we want focus on 78rpm and 45rpm as those are less shared. Thanks to the friends who encouraged us to proceed in this huge work and to Michael and Matteo for the Logo , we love it!

If you want give a little support subscribe , we do not monetize from this , just to spread music that otherwise will probably disappear. If any of our African friends want to add infos , translate or add whatever content to all this , get in touch!

We at DTW's stable are happy to announce the reissue of Alphonsus Idigo’s LP ‘ Search’ 💥💥

Originally recorded in 1987 at Tabansi recorded Studio & Roger All Stars and pressed by Wilfilms, Nigeria.

You’ll find six tracks of drumcomputer driven lo-fi jams laced with catchy synth lines from the mind of producer Austine Onwurah, who was quite active in the 80’s.. The project with Mr. Idigo resulted in a highly addictive cosmic boogie album which includes four absolute highlights.

The record starts with one of the standout cuts; Flight 505, which is a tough electro/boogie crossover with vocals and sparse vocoder on top. Followed by the heavy boogie jam ‘We Got To Love’ , that is the personal favorite and a great track for DJ’s . The magnificent A-side closes with the catchy title track, again great production with top chorus and synth hook. On the flip you’ll find the wicked digital reggae tune ‘Mystic World’ with still ever relevant lyrics that closes the LP..

There is something special about this sought after record, the way the instrumentation has been played and programmed is very groovy and musical with a certain sound to it that is unmistakably Nigerian. The synth melodies weave in the tracks with ease and layers of funky bas and guitar float on top. Music that will grow on you every time you listen to it, one of the clever wonders coming from Nigeria!

DAWCHY

Guadeloupean singer (French West Indies), Dawchy aspires to share his Love for Life through his music. Very steeped in Caribbean music, this music lover has multiple universes, without limits of style, strongly colored by the colors of Reggae, Dancehall, Gwoka, Soul and Gospel and many others.

After leaving his native island to continue his studies in France with the desire to become a researcher in environmental protection, he was drawn to music when he met the Aveyron Reggae group, Mystikaly Band in 2009.

Today we hear him, most often, with Reggaescape Sound System (Montpellier), led by the producer, composer and director Tom Caruana (Tomyshune). Since 2019 it has been an emblematic Sound of the south of France with its unique sound and its strong involvement in Sound System/Dub culture.

Working to a very special project , been pushing hard on the TEAM with mad ideas , this is most probably one of the most complex projects we are working on!

What you hear on DTW Abeng/Tabel projects is in big part taken care by aka il Condor , who work to the recordings , mixings , organize recording sessions & guitars. Every element in the puzzle is important , behind what you hear there is a proper Team of musicians working hard to create those productions.

Today we are in studio with Franco to record tons of percussions 🥁💥💥💥💥 let me tell you , PURE FYAH , real organic sound.

Finally! On our flight to Toulouse! We almost missed it due to the airplanes strikes that created mad queues in all the airport but after jumping a couple barriers and queues we made it on board!
