[NEW MUSIC] TIPOGRAFIA SONORA is out on 51Beats!!

Tipografia Sonora is the charming fusion between the nu-jazz & electronic music project by the homonymous newly formed band, and the photography by the “Maestro” Mario Giacomelli.

This album is a tribute to the photographer and artist Mario Giacomelli and is an attempt to translate his photographic poetics into music. Through a compositional stratification and the contrast between acoustic and electronic instruments we tried to re-propose those strong contrasts, those double exposures and superimpositions typical of some of his images, also feeling very close to his strong bond with the territory, often the subject of his art and his “visions”.

Tipografia Sonora is composed by Michele Duscio (electronics), Leonardo Francesconi (piano) and Francesco Savoretti (percussion).

In termini di innovazione, la proposta musicale del trio parte da sequenze elettroniche casuali generate algoritmicamente, che fungono da base mutevole per l'improvvisazione e lo sviluppo dei brani, nella sovrapposizione di elementi elettronici e acustici. Un approccio che può ricordare Floating Points, Plaid, Chilly Gonzales e Lambert. Come le fotografie di Giacomelli, imprevedibili e poetiche, anche la musica evolve dinamicamente, svelando gradualmente nuovi dettagli e possibili interpretazioni.

Tipografia Sonora is the charming fusion between the nu-jazz & electronic music project by the homonymous newly formed band, and the photography by the “Maestro” Mario Giacomelli. Tipografia Sonora discloses unprecedented prospectives to observe the Marche region, in Italy.
An exclusive vinyl will be released the 24th of January 2025 with the contribution of NUOVOIMAIE.
The release will be also available in its digital format in all stores.

In terms of innovation, the trio's musical proposal starts from algorithmically generated random electronic sequences, which act as a changing basis for the improvisation and development of the songs, in the overlap of electronic and acoustic elements. An approach that may recall Floating Points, Plaid, Chilly Gonzales and Lambert. Like Giacomelli's photographs, unpredictable and poetic, the music also evolves dynamically, gradually revealing new details and possible interpretations.

Le premesse da cui parte il lavoro di ricerca dei tre musicisti sono l’amore per la propria terra, le Marche, e il desiderio di sonorizzare le fotografie realizzate dal fotografo senigalliese di fama mondiale Mario Giacomelli (1925-2000), intrecciando memoria e innovazione.
Tipografia Sonora dichiara: ‹‹ Questo album è un omaggio al fotografo e artista Mario Giacomelli ed è un tentativo di tradurre in musica la sua poetica fotografica. Attraverso una stratificazione compositiva e il contrasto tra strumenti acustici ed elettronici abbiamo cercato di riproporre quei forti contrasti, quelle doppie esposizioni e sovrapposizioni tipiche di alcune sue immagini, sentendoci anche molto vicini al suo forte legame con il territorio, spesso soggetto della sua arte e delle sue “visioni” ››

TIPOGRAFIA SONORA è il progetto dei marchigiani Michele Duscio (già uscito con 51Beats nel 2021 con la release Electricults), Francesco Savoretti e Leonardo Francesconi.
Nasce con l'intento di sonorizzare i meravigliosi scatti del celebre fotografo senigalliese Mario Giacomelli di cui, nel 2025, si festeggiano i 100 anni dalla nascita.

Un'esperienza multisensoriale unica, dove le immagini prendono vita attraverso le note e i suoni elettronici del trio.

Siamo davvero orgogliosi inoltre di aver ottenuto grazie alla cortesia dell’Archivio Mario Giacomelli una foto rappresentativa dell’opera del maestro per la copertina dell’album, che rende ancora più pregevole questa uscita unica nel suo genere.

TIPOGRAFIA SONORA is the project of Michele Duscio (already released by 51Beats in 2021 with the release Electricults), Francesco Savoretti and Leonardo Francesconi.

The project was born with the aim of soundtracking the wonderful shots of the famous photographer Mario Giacomelli, whose 100th birthday we will celebrate in 2025.

A unique multisensory experience, where the images come to life through the notes and electronic sounds.

We are also very proud to have obtained, thanks to the courtesy of the Mario Giacomelli Archive, a representative photo of the master's work for the album cover, which makes this one-of-a-kind release even more valuable.
