For the last 9 years, we've experienced the ups and downs. We win, we celebrate. We lose we learn from it.
The Chot Reyes era has finally come to an end as he steps aside as our National Team Head Coach.
Thank you Coach Chot for breaking the curse of Korea, thank you for giving us our 1st World Cup win in 40 years and thank you for giving us hope that our future is in good hands.
Dwight Ramos, AJ Edu, Kai Sotto and Rhenz Abando sets up the core in which excites us on our future battles.
Jordan Clarkson is raring to wear the Pilipinas jersey again and he is hoping to represent the country on the next World Cup.
This could be the last time we will see Japeth Aguilar and Junemar Fajardo, JMF has proven that he can compete against World-level bigs while Japeth has become the leader that cannot be seen on a stat sheet.
Kiefer Ravena just proved that his International experience is valuable, while Scottie Thompson will be a better player with this experience.
CJ Perez has been a Team-first player from being the best local player last 2019 to be the team's cheerleader and just being ready to perform when his number is called. Roger Pogoy has shot better compared last 2019 and Jamie Malonzo will improve more as the years goes by.
We don't know yet what's next for our National Team. Possibly the Asian Games will just be a temporary solution with an Interim coach and a roster of All-PBA since the NBA, BLeague and KBL boys will return to their club team.
But we are hoping that in those 9 years, SBP has learned alot and should use all those experience to be a better federation for our preparation on the coming OQT and the 2027 FIBA World Cup.
For the last 9 years... we fight, we battle, we give our all whatever the score and that is the embodiment of our battlecry, PUSO!
Maraming salamat Gilas Pilipinas!
