Designed based on simple typological characteristics and construction solutions, the new preschool is built in wood and consists of a series of disjointed volumes organized beneath an ample pitched roof.

The building provides an open educational environment where the interconnectedness of spaces and the relationship between indoor and outdoor areas are part of an educational experience aimed at providing children with numerous opportunities for discovery.

Constructed in 150 days, the building spans an area of 600 square meters. Since January 2024, it has been accommodating approximately 70 children, divided into 2 preschool sections and 1 nursery section.

The collaboration between the University of Parma and the Fondazione Accademia dei Giorni Straordinari has brought to fruition a pioneering educational center in Parma, characterized by its commitment to inclusion.

Designed by Enrico Molteni Architecture, this innovative hub consists of two interconnected buildings, identical and specular, each embodying a distinct purpose within a shared educational ethos.

The integration between public and private stakeholders provided the inspiration for the conception of a project in which the two distinct educational programs blend and complement each other within a single building.

Nestled within the dynamic spaces of the Luigi Pecci Center for Contemporary Art in Prato, Italy, a vibrant array of geometric forms dance with colorful lines, breaks, and curves, breathing life into the courtyard.

Positioned along the entrance pathway, between the original structure of the museum and its newest addition, emerges a new playground designed for children and teenagers alike.

Known as L’Anima(le) del museo, the project is the result of the collaboration between ECÒL and Luca Boscardin, artfully weaving together architecture, graphic design, and sculpture to conjure and embody the essence of a fantastical creature, inviting visitors into a realm of imagination and wonder.

The monumental complex of Orsanmichele in Florence, a unique and extraordinary building where civic and religious functions merge, reopens its doors to the public in a completely renewed setting designed by map architetti and Natalini Architetti.

The essential and meticulous intervention on the openings facing Via dell’Arte della Lana, together with the new lighting of the Church, heralds the surprise of the interior. The new setup creates a progression that from the street level to the second floor aims to bring the visitor closer to the spaces and the works contained within.

Within the Museum, the presence of the sculptural groups, originally conceived to overlook the external sides of the building, provides the opportunity for a new spatial organization of the entire floor. This relies on a system of platforms and stages to put the works into dialogue with each other under the gaze of the visitor, evoking the idea of a public space.

STARTT - studio di architettura e trasformazioni territoriali, FLEXI: the Second Hall of the Rossini Theater in Pesaro, Italy (2023). Photos by Alessandro Penso. Performer Anna Basti.

"The new project completed by STARTT for the Second Hall of the Rossini Theater in Pesaro defines a contemporary environment that blends the abstract space of European performance theater with the historical tradition of Italian opera."

"FLEXI is conceived as a theater within the theater, an ephemeral and reversible device that allows the perception of the historical hall and the presence of the urban scene evoked by STARTT."

"This intervention is a fragment of the broader reflection that STARTT is dedicating to the city of Pesaro and contributes to the program for Pesaro: Capitale della cultura 2024."

DEMOGO, New office building of the Guardia di Finanza in Bologna, Italy (2023). Photos by Iwan Baan.

"The project by DEMOGO for the new regional headquarters of Guardia di Finanza (Financial and Customs Police) transforms a marginal urban condition into a work of architecture that exudes both composure and rigor, all while seamlessly incorporating a diverse range of spaces and establishing connections with the urban fabric and distinctive elements of the city of Bologna."

"The volume of the new building, part of the Caserma Bertarini (Bertarini Barracks), is characterized by a sloping profile along which gardens are arranged, providing the five above-ground floors with a succession of outdoor spaces complementary to the offices and meeting room. A long staircase traverses the entire volume, creating unexpected spatiality and fostering areas for interaction among the offices."

"DEMOGO’s wealth of professional expertise and theoretical exploration converge in this latest project, offering a unique chance to delve into the concept of the ‘boundary.’ Here, the ‘boundary’ is envisioned as a transformative ‘third space,’ fostering the emergence of interactive realms and innovative dynamics."
