Sounds excessive but there was a method to audio engineer Stanley Owsley’ s madness when he designed the Wall of Sound specifically for Grateful Dead live concerts.
Those who heard it say it was always the best live sound ever.
The Wall of Sound didn't last long, I think about a year, due to very high fuel costs and strong personnel tensions.
However, just looking at it, this wall is really impressive.
